Lisbon Day: 9 Lisboa Story Centre.
Well, we WERE going to go to Sintra today, but the weather dictated otherwise. We'd been thinking about visiting the Lisbon Story Centre for a while and decided that today would be the day. We thoroughly enjoyed it and give it a big thumbs up. We also had lunch in a Portuguese restaurant and had a posh ice-cream later too. Izzy gives a guided tour of all the ice-cream flavours!

Although the Great Earthquake reduced much of Lisbon to rubble, the ancient suburb of Alfama was spared. Lose yourself amid the cobblestones, where cafes, bars and artisan shops have taken residence in the dockworkers’ homes of old.

In the early summer of 2017, the skatedeluxe team along with Denny Pham, Willow, Douwe Macare, Ben Dillinger and Christoph Radtke went to the capital of Portugal.
While huge plazas with marble ledges and perfect ground meet steep streets and a desert of cobblestones in the city centre, the suburbs like Almada and Caparica attract skaters with their own special flair and exceptional architecture, suited perfectly for every trick in the skateboarder's repertoire. Cinematographer Severin Strauss captured the trip in a special kind of way. Skateboarding in Lisbon - This must be the place!

The Diamond Jubilee finale of his highness the Aga Khan was staged in Lisbon, Portugal. A truly historic event bringing together 50,000 Ismaili Muslims from all parts of the globe.
His Highness also officially announced Lisbon as the new seat of the imamat - A permanent base for the Imamat and Institutions. I have tried to capture all the magical moments of the week and compiled them into a short film. From the concerts and events to exploration of Lisbon to surprise visits by the Noorani family - This was truly a once in a lifetime experience in which i feel so blessed and fortunate for being a part of.

LISBON Shopping Mall FIRST IMPRESSIONS, Centro Vasco Da Gama
We've been looking at things to do in Lisbon and one idea was a day trip to Centro Vasco Da Gama shopping Mall. J's mum needed a good pair of shoes and wanted a Sketchers store, Lisbon's shopping malls had a dedicated shop with a large range.
We drove from the silver coast where we live in Caldas da rainha and the journey time was 1 hour each way. We weren't sure how much the parking cost was going to be, but we parked at Centro Vasco Da Gama's underground car park and was extremely surprised at how inexpensive it was. 3.40 Euros for 3 hours 45 minutes parking at one of Lisbon's best shopping malls. That's pretty amazing!
We also took a walk around parque das nações so Story could have a break from the shops and we enjoyed the sunshine at a local Starbucks cafe where we also indulged ourselves and bought a Vegan cake and 3 bags of coffee beans.
Overall our full day shopping in Lisbon was pretty great, and our first impressions of our time there are really good. We recommend this mall. :-)
