WTF? Bass fishing at G. Ross Lord Park Reservoir, Toronto, Ontario
To fast forward, I caught largemouth bass at the end of the video 0:52
I decided to check out a reservoir close to my home. It takes about 10 minutes to bus from my Jane and Finch neighbourhood. This reservoir is located on the corner of Dufferin St. And Finch Avenue.
I haven't fished the west side of the reservoir yet but I'm sure it's good for carp and bullheads. I saw about 5 people fishing and two young kids fishing across the body of water. I suspect it was cityfishermen since he goes here all the time.
I think this place is really good for carp and bass might be harder. I think I got lucky catching that bass with my white spinner bait.

I Found the BEST SPOT!! Incredible Pike Fishing
Floating an unfamiliar river for some super aggressive pike. I searched around for a while, and then found one of the best pike holes I've fished in a while!
Fly rod: 9' 8wt Orvis Clearwater rod (4 piece)
Reel: Waterworks‑Lamson Liquid Fly Reel 3.5
Line: 8wt scientific anglers fly line, 20lb tapered flouro leader with a 20lb RIO wire tippet.
Rod/reel setup:
-Quantum Octane 6'6 medium heavy action rod with an Abu Garcia silver max and 30lb braided line, connected to a 27lb 9 steel leader.
***The rod and reel I was using is a cheap setup, and I wouldn't necessarily recommend it. I only use it at the river in case something happens, I'd rather break that than an expensive rod/reel.

Waterfall at Grand Falls, Grand-Sault, New Brunswick
The waterfalls at Grand Falls, New Brunswick are awesome, a bit of a mini Niagara Falls in New Brunswick! There is a trail called Lovers Lane that goes over a bridge and to the dam with nice views of the river.
There is a zipline across the river but we decided to just take a walk on the trail and watch the powerful rushing water cascading over the falls.

2017 February 19 - Carp fishing in the San Gabriel River (ft. Kim and her new PB)
This was my third trip to the San Gabriel Park. This is Kim's first visit and our first time carp fishing. I grabbed a quick carp bait recipe from one of Catfish and Carp's videos (really informative stuff there). We were only there for a few hours and it was great. The video is a little long but I'm trying to learn as I go and hoping to share the ups and downs with you all. Kim's first fish is at the 6:00 minute mark and her second fish is at 15:00 minutes in. I really enjoy bass fishing so I just couldn't resist including the guy with the Whopper Plopper.
I don't sit and fish often but I find that it can be more rewarding to casual anglers. As you can see here, Kim had a great time and even though I didn't land anything, it was extremely successful. I apologize for being overly excited at certain moments but I was so hyped about Kim catching some fish with real weight to them.
My gear today included my Shimano Solstace 4000FI and Ugly Stik 9'0 medium action. Both models are unfortunately discontinued. My line included PowerPro (Moss Green) Braid 30lbs and size 2/0 Gamakatsu octopus circle hooks. Since I don't bait fish often, I used an old surf set from years back.
Kim's gear included her Shimano Sedona 2500FE and Ugly Stik Elite 6'6 action. PowerPro (Moss Green) Braid 20lbs.
I know a lot of the community frowns upon the Ugly Stik. When it comes to bait fishing, I'm more interested in a down and dirty rod that can take a beating. My higher end rods are reserved for ultralight/bass where I need that sensitivity.
I don't get paid through any sponsorships and work hard to have what I own. I fish for my enjoyment but would love to pass on a little knowledge or inspiration. I'd always rather be fishing!
