Marietas Islands Puerto Vallarta Nuevo Vallarta Mexico hidden Beach las islas marietas
Marietas Islands Puerto Vallarta Nuevo Vallarta Mexico hidden Beach, las Islas marietas, Protected from the intrusion of the world outside, the hidden beach of Marieta Islands las Islas marietas, Puerto Vallarta is a world of its own. Located just a few miles off the coast of Mexico, close to Bandera bay, Marieta Islands are archipelagos that were formed as a result of volcanic activity. The islands have remained almost secluded ever since. It was only recently that the recreational aspect of the place was discovered following the development of an extremely exclusive marine ecosystem that makes this place just as unique as thrilling.
The marine environment of hidden beach Marieta Island, Puerta Vallarta has developed over several years, sans any disturbance from humans or outside nature. As a result, the marine life here is intriguing and holds a huge potential for people who love just this kind of sport. Marieta Islands are one of the best sports for snorkeling and scuba diving owing to the virgin nature of the place, along with its diversity.
The water along the hidden beach Marieta Island, Puerto Vallarta is a crystal clear blue mass of pure bliss. Of the marine wildlife available to view in the place, Humpback whale, sea turtles and dolphins are just a few of the most magnificent examples. Travelers can also enjoy a powerboat trip to the hidden beach, Marieta Island, Puerto Vallarta taking in the scenery along the way. The hidden beach, Marieta Islands, Puerto Vallarta is an intriguing site in its own accord. The beach remains cut off from the rest of the group of islands. And for those who stumble across the place, the surprises held are immense. The beach is considered to possess an abundance of reef fish, with about 103 different species moving around in the clear blue waters of the beach. The whales can also be viewed in their magnificent glory and for some lucky travelers; they may even get to experience the 'whale- music'- unique sound made by these huge creatures just as they dive deeper into the waters. Following winter rains, Puerto Vallarta weather remains pleasant and inviting. The rains also make the water as clear as available on any beach n the world. The accommodation comes easy and in a wide range for all kinds of travelers. While the hidden beach, Marieta Islands, Puerto Vallarta is still hidden mostly in the literal sense, the rest of Puerto, Vallarta is a reasonable commercial place receiving tourists from all over the world in large numbers. The Marieta Islands were originally formed many thousands of years ago by volcanic activity, and are completely uninhabited. The islands are about an hour-long boat ride west-northwest from the coast of Puerto Vallarta and are visited daily by hundreds of tourists, yet no one can legally set foot on the islands. In the early 1900s, the Mexican government began conducting military testing on the islands because no one lived there. Many bombings and large explosions took place on the islands causing amazing caves and rock formations to be created. After a massive international outcry, started by scientist Jacques Cousteau in the late 1960s, the government eventually decided to label the islands a national park and therefore protected against any fishing, hunting or human activity. The Pacific waters in the Puerto Vallara are warm and supplement rich so they draw in a mixture of fish and other ocean creatures perfect for scuba diving and snorkeling.
The ocean preserve encompassing Los Arcos, a rock formation off Playa Mismaloya, is a famous spot for jumping and snorkeling. The bay at Quimixto, about 32 km (20 mi) south of PV and available just by pontoon, is a great snorkeling area. Pangas situated in Boca, Mismaloya, Yelapa and others can take you to spots less touristy.

Blind diving in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
From my trip to Puerto Vallarta in Mexico. This video is taken from a local restaurant I went called Restaurante Chicos Paradise. Look at this amazing diver by the restaurant. He dived with closed eyes. It does not look that crazy on the video but you can't breath watching him physically.
A Glimpse of Puerto Vallarta Jalisco, Mexico
Year Round - A Glimpse of Puerto Vallarta Jalisco, Mexico
In years gone by, Puerto Vallarta was a small fishing village. Now, it is one of the most popular travel destinations in the Mexican Riviera. Forming the coast line around the Banderas Bay (Bay of Flags) Puerto Vallarta offers every water sport you can think of, some of the best seafood Ive eaten, sun, sand and wonderful memories.
One popular destination for snorkeling and SCUBA diving, in the Banderas Bay, is Islas Marietas. Three small islands off the main coast about 90 minutes out by boat.
We also took a short bus trip along the coast line and stopped at a Chicos Paradise. A great place to take a quick dip but what caught my attention was the young diver jumping from the rocks high above the waterblindfolded. I cringed each time he climbed up to the top of the rock and put his blindfold onenough said, Ill let you watch the video; still cringing here.
We also had the opportunity to eat at many local restaurants. Our favorite was Ah Caramba, a restaurant bar & terrace. With a beautiful view overlooking Banderas Bay, musicians to serenade guests, absolutely wonderful food and of course fabulous margaritas! This is a must do eatery; go early, watch the sunset and enjoy. Just tell the cab driver where you want to go, no problem.
And if you would like a taste of the Mayan culture try an evening at the Rhythms of the Night. Primal, mystical and very dreamlike, Mayan music floats through this jungle cove as talented dancers perform for a captive audience. After the show, a wonderful dinner served under the stars. Photography is very limited here so enjoy the tidbit that we got. Access to this hidden gem is by boat only.
Listen in to Talk of the Bay, as we traveled around Puerto Vallarta.
Muchos gracias mi amigos, you made our trip very memorable, adios.

20170715_104324
⇒How to Get There
Catch the orange bus that is just outside the Oxxo on the corner of Baslio Badillo and Constitucion. Ride the bus to Mismaloya, about a 20-30 minute ride depending on how many stops the bus makes along the way. Note: simply tell the bus driver as you are getting ON the bus that you would like to get off at Mismaloya. The stop is hard to miss as it is one of the more popular/busiest stops, but a heads up to the driver will ensure he/she will let you know when you are there.
⇒Finding a Snorkel Charter
As you exit the bus, walk down a winding road directly to the left of the big hotel, Barceló. Along that road, you will come across a dive shop on the left, Mismaloya Adventures. We have snorkeled with this company a few times and have been really happy. Note: you are able to customize your snorkeling/boating experience how you like. This is the bonus of booking a private trip vs. a shore excursion with other people. We requested one hour of boat time-30 minutes of snorkeling and 30 minutes of riding the boat around the rocks and along the shoreline.20170715_104234
⇒The Cost
The cost is negotiable. We paid $1,000 pesos (about $58 USD) for four people on the boat, only two snorkelers, and one hour of boat time total. We tipped $200 pesos at the end of our trip. The boat captain did a great job and made sure we all had a great time. The price may differ depending on demand, time of year, etc.
⇒The Beach at Mismaloya
After snorkeling and exploring the coastline, we highly recommend spending some time at the beach at Mismaloya. With no waves, the water is pristine and calm. There is only one hotel on the shoreline, so it is typically not as crowded as other beaches in town. There are a few restaurants for when you get hungry (or need a margarita). Note: There is a river flowing into the ocean which offers ice cold, fresh water. This is great for rinsing off salt water before heading home!20170715_105028
⇒Getting Back to Town
This part is a breeze. Simply walk back up the winding road you walked down to get to the beach, and cross the street. Directly across the street is a covered bus stop. Catch the orange bus that says “Centro, Mismaloya, Boca” back to the Oxxo where you started your snorkeling journey. Enjoy your day!
