The park consists of two components: zoological and botanical. The main objective of the park is to become a family-oriented park and the emphasis is put on the Children’s Zoo.
Among the inhabitants of the zoo (zoological component) are the Borneo Pygmy elephants, Proboscis monkey, Malayan tiger, as well as some different species of deer.
The botanical component, on the other hand; offers visitors the opportunity to go jungle trekking along the botanical trail. The paved trail is about 1.4 kilometers long. However, for leisurely strolls, visitors are only advised to walk halfway along the trail.
Alhamdulillah sahabat2, sempat menyinggah disini.. bawak anak2 jalan tengok haiwan yang ada dalam zoo ini. Walaupun kepenatan anak2 ini, terasa ada benda baru yang mungkin mereka pelajari daripada lawatan ringkas ini.

Visitation to the Lok Kawi Wildlife Park @ Sabah Penampang, The Sabah Zoo
On my last day at Kota Kinabalu, my family and I went to the Sabah Zoo a.k.a Lok Kawi Wildlife Park. This is the park that runs by the Sabah wildlife department, under the ministry of tourism Sabah.
The park has more than 100 species of mammals including birds, which all kept in captivity. They also have a botanical garden, an herbal and a ginger garden.
What I enjoyed most is the animal show which starts 11AM and 3PM daily. They really train the animals well, as they have orang utan showing off his strength by peeling the coconut, snake hiding in the audients seat, parrots playing basketball, and more.

Where would you be able to see wild creatures in Sabah, Borneo?
The Lok Kawi Wildlife Park (zoo) is a gathering of Borneo natural life and creatures from different parts of the world. It's is one approach to experience some of Sabah's creatures very close, particularly as a family and in case you're not doing whatever else that will include genuine untamed life.
With every one of the creatures being in not really huge nooks, locating them is nearly ensured, guaranteeing that you will get a look at Sabah's and Borneo's most hard to spot wilderness animals.
Lok Kawi Wildlife Park showcases jeopardized creatures, for example, the Bornean Elephant, to bring issues to light of their predicament.

The Lok Kawi Wildlife Park was officially open to the public on the 17th February 2007. It is located along the Penampang-Papar old road and is fully developed by the Sabah Wildlife Department.

Taman Hidupan Liar Lok Kawi terletak kira-kira 15KM dari Bandar Putatan. Taman ini dibuka pada setiap hari bermula 9.30AM hingga 5.30PM. Terdapat 100 jenis haiwan yang terdapat di Taman ini.
