Travel Photography in Britain - London
A glimpse of a view that I was given access to recently in London, UK.
Although I'm British I now live in France so it's not that easy to just turn up when th light is good. I have to make plans in advance. It's not always ideal as illustrated here.
You'll some of the gear that I use for my travel and landscape photography as well as the end result of the time lapse work that I was doing on location above the rooftops of London.

EP6 | Warner Bros Studio Tour | Hollywood | Batmobiles, Ellen, Aquaman & Wonder Woman
Welcome to our California series!
If you've never watched us before we are a couple of Disney vloggers from London, England.
Please check out our previous trips - the playlists are down below - and we would love to share those fun trips with you.
In this series we flew BA Club World from Heathrow to Los Angeles [LHR to LAX] for Christmas and we stayed at the BLVD Hotel & Suites in Hollywood for five nights before heading down to Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel in Disneyland, Anaheim, for four nights.
We got an amazing bargain using our companion voucher from our BA American Express credit card. The flights cost £900 in total. For both of us. Flying BA Business Class. It's an offer we couldn't say no to.
Regular viewers will know that we usually go to Walt Disney World or Disneyland Paris, so this trip was something different.
Whilst we were in Hollywood we went on a Universal Studios Hollywood VIP tour; visited the huge and incredible Funko Hollywood store; mooched around Warner Bros on their studio tour; went to the Disneyland Hollywood store in search of pins; as well as our usual trip to Target for some shopping fun.
On our drive down to Disneyland we stopped off at the oldest working McDonald's in the world and then enjoyed 5 days of magic in the happiest place on earth: Disneyland.
We have been before but this is our first attempt at vlogging there.
You'll see our room tour of Paradise Pier Hotel and we'll take you into both Disneyland Park and Disney's California Adventure. We'll show you the merch on offer and the rides that we go on. As usual there will be lots of screams.
We usually film on a GoPro Hero 7 Black, but for this trip we have upgraded to the GoPro Hero 8 Black. Looking back at the footage there are a few things we need to adjust before our next trip, but hey, you live and learn!
Today we are at the Warner Bros Studio Tour.
We're not allowed to film.
We film.
We start in the archive where we are rushed around the ground floor where they have costumes and props from Aquaman and Wonder Woman. And then it's a rush round the upper floor where there was Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts costumes.
Then we are off on the trolley cart to the backlot to New York where they filmed Annie, Friends, The Mask, Scarface to name but a few! There's a trip to the Ellen Degeneres Show set; we visit the prop house; the Bat Garage where we see all kinds of Batmobile; and the Friends fountain! The tour ends at the From Script to Screen exhibition where we see outfits and props from A Star is Born [including the original with Judy Garland] and we have a photo on The Big Bang Theory sofa!
It was a fun tour, but pretending that we were taking photos and not filming does make for interesting footage - we hope you enjoy!

London's Heathrow International Airport - LHR
Heathrow Airport is a major international airport in west London, England. Heathrow is the busiest airport in the United Kingdom, busiest airport in Europe by passenger traffic, and third busiest airport in the world by total passenger traffic. In 2014, it handled a record 73.4 million passengers, a 1.4 percent increase from 2013.
Heathrow lies 12 nautical miles (22 km; 14 mi) west of Central London, and has two parallel east–west runways along with four operational terminals on a site that covers 12.14 square kilometres (4.69 sq mi). The airport is owned and operated by Heathrow Airport Holdings, which itself is owned by FGP TopCo Limited, an international consortium led by the Spanish Ferrovial Group that includes Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec and Government of Singapore Investment Corporation. Heathrow is the primary hub for British Airways and the primary operating base for Virgin Atlantic.
In September 2012, the UK government established the Airports Commission, an independent commission chaired by Sir Howard Davies to examine various options for increasing capacity at UK airports. The commission shortlisted two options for expanding Heathrow in its interim report in 2013, along with a third option for expanding Gatwick Airport. The final report, published on 1 July 2015, backed a third runway at Heathrow.

Whirlwind Tour of London
In Episode 4, Corey and I travel to the United Kingdom to do some photography, and our first stop is in London. Since it was Corey's first trip across the pond, we jammed as many activities as we could between photography sessions. We visited the highlights, including The Tower of London, Tower Bridge, St. Pauls Cathedral, the Natural History Museum, The British Museum, The Albert and Victoria Museum, and more. We did it all in five whirlwind days before we caught a northbound train for Scotland.

Walking the River Thames and Exploring London - VIDEO TOUR (England, UK)
We decided to walk along the River Thames from West London for a few miles and take some photos and videos along the way!
The River Thames (/tɛmz/ TEMZ) is a river that flows through southern England, most notably through London. At 215 miles (346 km), it is the longest river entirely in England and the second longest in the United Kingdom, after the River Severn. It also flows through Oxford (where it is called Isis), Reading, Henley-on-Thames and Windsor. The lower reaches of the river are called the Tideway, derived from its long tidal reach up to Teddington Lock. It rises at Thames Head in Gloucestershire, and flows into the North Sea via the Thames Estuary. The Thames drains the whole of Greater London.
Its tidal section, reaching up to Teddington Lock, includes most of its London stretch and has a rise and fall of 7 metres (23 ft). Running through some of the driest parts of mainland Britain and heavily abstracted for drinking water, the Thames' discharge is low considering its length and breadth: the Severn has a discharge almost twice as large on average despite having a smaller drainage basin. In Scotland, the Tay achieves more than double the average discharge from a drainage basin that is 60% smaller.
Along its course are 45 navigation locks with accompanying weirs. Its catchment area covers a large part of South Eastern and a small part of Western England and the river is fed by 38 named tributaries. The river contains over 80 islands. With its waters varying from freshwater to almost seawater, the Thames supports a variety of wildlife and has a number of adjoining Sites of Special Scientific Interest, with the largest being in the remaining parts of the North Kent Marshes and covering 5,449 hectares (13,460 acres).
In 2010, the Thames won the largest environmental award in the world – the $350,000 International Riverprize.

London Video Tour: The City
The City of London is one of the oldest parts of the capitol, as it is located where London was first founded almost 2000 years ago. The City of London roughly constitutes the same area that was mostly unaltered until the beginning of the Industrial Revolution in the 18th Century. Known as the Square Mile, the City nowadays is roughly bounded by the River Thames to the south, Chancery Lane to the west, Charterhouse Street to the north, and the Tower of London to the east. Although the old City's gates are long gone, you can still see their location in the street names. Join us on this video tour as we explore the Tower of London, Leadenhall Market, the City's financial district, St. Paul's Cathedral and more!
The Tower of London
To the east of the City you'll find the Tower of London by the River Thames. The tower was built in 1066, and the imposing building still reflects its turbulent past. In its long years, the Tower has been a fortress, a state prison, and it was also used as a place of execution. Nowadays, the Tower of London is open for visitors. You can see the crown jewels, royal armor and of course the Tower's famous ravens here. Legend says that if the ravens were ever to leave the Tower, England would fall.
Leadenhall Market in the City
Leadenhall Market on Gracechurch Street dates back to the 14th century, and is one of the oldest markets in London. Previously a meat, game and poultry market, the covered market was redesigned in 1881 by Sir Horace Jones, who created a beautiful roof structure. This, coupled with the cobbled walkways and beautiful decorations, make it a popular tourist attraction. Nowadays, you can also find clothes shops and more next to the flowers and fresh produce that are still sold here. When walking through the market don't forget to look up: you can still see the hooks on the walls where fresh produce was displayed in Victorian times.
London & the River Thames
The River Thames passes the City of London to the south and runs through the center of Greater London. The Thames used to play a vital role in London's economy. Although this has changed in modern times, the river is still an essential part of the City. To explore the city in a different way, you can catch one of the riverboat tours that navigate the Thames. From the water you'll be able to see many of London's most famous attractions, such as the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, the London Eye, Big Ben, Westminster Palace and more!
The Financial District City of London
The City of London is one of the most important financial districts in the world. You will find the offices of more than 500 banks at the Bank of England in the City. Mostly employed in the financial sector, there are over 300 thousand people working within the City's boundaries. As London's foremost financial and legal center, there are many people who visit the City on business.
Stay in a City of London Vacation Rental Apartment
Whether you're coming to the City of London for business or pleasure, you can relax after a long day and come home to a comfortable vacation rental apartment in the City. ( NY Habitat has both serviced and regular furnished vacation rental apartments in the area, where you can enjoy your stay in the City of London like a true local. Take for example this 1-bedroom vacation rental apartment in the City: which is located just minutes away from the Tower of London. Or take this comfortable 2-bedroom apartment in the center of the City: which lies close to St. Paul's Cathedral and several subway stops! Check for our entire selection of apartments in London.
Pudding Lane, the Great Fire of London & St. Paul's Cathedral
The Great Fire of London started right in City of London along Pudding Lane in 1666. Near Pudding Lane you can find the Monument to the Great Fire of London, which was designed by Christopher Wren. The 61-meter-tall monument (200 feet) commemorates the fire that destroyed much of the Old City of London, including St. Paul's Cathedral and over 13 thousand houses.
Modern Architecture in the City of London
Besides famous landmarks and historic old buildings, the City of London also houses some of London's most innovative contemporary buildings. Examples include the Lloyd's Building, the Heron Tower and the Gherkin Building. The City of London combines all the good of the old with all the innovation of the new. It truly is a place to see!

London Video Tour: The East End
In this video tour, New York Habitat ( explores London's developing East End!
On the tour, David Hill will stop by some of the most popular and iconic neighborhoods and streets in London’s East End, including Shoreditch, Hoxton, Spitalfields, and the Spitalfields market. All of these neighborhoods comprise the greater East End, and overlap with equally popular Hackney. Find out more about Hackney in our blog ( Home to artists, rebels, and young professionals, there truly is a place for everyone in this diverse, eclectic neighborhood. Once a shipping and industrial center, recent decades of prosperity have transformed London’s East End into one of the best-kept secrets in town!
Find this dynamic neighborhood between Bishopsgate in the west and the River Lea in the east, as well as the River Thames to the south and Regent’s Canal to the north. You can find our other London apartments here (
Shoreditch
Once a working class neighborhood, this section of town has blossomed in recent decades into a hip and trendy spot for young professionals. Yet architectural elements still linger from Shoreditch’s days as a dockyard, silk center, and furniture hub. You can see some examples of this in our long-term rentals in London ( In fact, Shoreditch has been a home to artists for centuries, and was the location of the first playhouse built in England. The popup shops of Boxpark Shoreditch are especially famous, so be sure to check them out.
Hoxton
Synonymous with theaters and music halls, the neighborhood of Hoxton is known by locals as a great alternative to the theater districts in the West End. Its roots in the area are ancient, as even the Romans once traversed Ermine Street. Today it’s known for its loft conversions and fabulous entertainment hotspots. It’s a great place to look into if you’re thinking of renting an apartment in London. (
Brick Lane
Stretching from Swanfield Street to Whitechapel High Street, Brick Lane is famous for its Bangladeshi cuisine and avant-garde art. Local curry houses are famous for their spicy and delicious fare, while the streets serve as a showcase for professional and student art.
Spitalfields
Made famous as Jack the Ripper’s hunting ground, Spitalfields has evolved from a hotbed of crime to a thriving and diverse community of locals. Spitalfields market is a great place to pick up inexpensive vintage goods while St. Catharine’s docks have been recently transformed into a modern marina and crisp housing development. It's a great place to find a short-term vacation rental apartment. ( You certainly can’t beat the view, since the Tower Bridge and the Tower of London are but steps away.
