Bahia Honda state park, Florida keys, United States 2002 - destroyed railway bridge, Silver Palm nature trail
Bahia Honda (meaning deep bay, in Spanish, locally pronounced: BAY-ah HON-da, also pronounced (in Spanish): Bah-EE-ah OWN-dah, is an island in the lower Florida Keys.
Bahia Honda State Park. Founded in 1961, the park occupies most of the island. The channel at the island's west end is one of the deepest natural channels in the Florida Keys. Henry Flagler's Florida East Coast Railway once ran through the present parkland to Key West. Built between 1905 and 1912, it was destroyed by the severe Labor Day Hurricane of 1935. Later, the railroad bridge foundations were used to build the Overseas Highway, which became U.S. 1
The Florida Keys are a coral cay archipelago located off the southern coast of Florida, forming the southernmost portion of the continental United States. They begin at the southeastern coast of the Florida peninsula, about 15 miles (24 km) south of Miami, and extend in a gentle arc south-southwest and then westward to Key West, the westernmost of the inhabited islands, and on to the uninhabited Dry Tortugas. The islands lie along the Florida Straits, dividing the Atlantic Ocean to the east from the Gulf of Mexico to the northwest, and defining one edge of Florida Bay. At the nearest point, the southern part of Key West is just 90 miles (140 km) from Cuba. The Florida Keys are between about 23.5 and 25.5 degrees North latitude.

Fiesta Key RV Resort and Florida Keys Aquarium Center
We drove through the RV Resort we stayed in on the Florida Keys as it has been windy and my camera microphone hates the wind. You will hear some knocking around in this video even though we were driving!!
It is a Thousand Trails/Encore park!! We were very happy with our stay!! Big lots for bigger RV's and accommodates all kinds of RV's including tent campers!! Staff was very friendly and helpful!! Had a great restaurant on site with great meals and prices. Highly recommend!! If going in January please book early as it is peak season. A bit pricey but well worth it!!
I do not suggest the Florida keys Aquarium center...very small and just not worth the admission price. Staff there was friendly and knowledgeable though.
Stay tuned for upcoming video of our visit to Theater of the Sea park!!
Florida Keys, USA - Unravel Travel TV
What you see in the Florida Keys you will not see anywhere else in the United States. Famous beauty and nature comprised in more than 800 islands, with 125 miles of Overseas Highway to explore. Enjoy this video for a short introduction to the fabulous Florida Keys.
According to Florida Keys legend, if visitors get sand in their shoes, they're destined to come back to the island chain again and again. It's not unusual to see first-timers scuffling their feet along the beaches, hoping to ensure repeat visits.
Curving below the southern tip of the Florida mainland, the Keys are connected by the Overseas Highway's 42 bridges over the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico. The region is divided into five unique districts, beginning with the northernmost island of Key Largo, known for its unparalleled diving and snorkeling.
Farther down lies the sport-fishing paradise of Islamorada, a recreational boating destination and historic Seven Mile Bridge at Marathon, the unspoiled nature preserves of Big Pine and the Lower Keys and, finally, quirky and charming Key West.
Together, the Keys are characterized by a rich seafaring history, flourishing creative community, balmy subtropical climate, natural environment that includes continental America's only living coral barrier reef and laid-back attitude that seems worlds away from everyday cares. Discover the island chain's attributes, attractions and engaging flavor in the releases here.

You NEED to visit KEY WEST. USA's Southern most point. Florida Keys & Key West Travel Guide.
We spent a few days travelling the Florida Keys thanks to
We started our day at one the best known State parks in the region called Bahia Honda State Park. There are a couple of really interested things about the park, one is that the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico are just a few metres apart and you can see both at the same time. The second thing is the amazing abandoned old rail bridge that goes across the water. We took up the drone to get better shots. To find out more about the park visit here:
After this we headed to Key West to check out the nightly Sunset Celebration that takes place at Mallory Square in downtown Key West. Here you’ll find vendors, food, drinks and buskers along with an absolutely stunning sunset.
We picked things up the next day as we made our way around Key West to check out the amazing southern architecture, the many chickens, and the awesome attractions. We started off at one of the best known ones, the Hemingway House Museum where Ernest Hemingway lived during the 1930s, we also got to see many of the cats that live on the property and are descendants of Hemingway’s cats.
Before heading to our last location we checked out the southernmost point in the continental USA which can be found in Key West.
Lastly we visited the Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory, which had many different species of butterflies and birds in a beautiful indoor garden.
