Longboat Key, Florida is a resort and residential community across from Sarasota, Fl, just south of Anna Maria and Tidy Island. Zota Beach Resort is well-maintained and clean. Valet Parking is required. The hotel is south of neighboring Anna Maria Island and Tidy Island. It is about 20 minutes from downtown Sarasota. Longboat Key. The water was crystal clear and perfect temperature. We also had great weather to boot. We got lucky with an extra room due to papa falling ill right before we left and nana having to stay back to take care of him. Although we really wish that they were there because nana would have loved the beach. The hotel stay was great and the staff was wonderful. They were very accommodating with all of our needs and although half of the hotel was under construction you couldn't tell by the way the staff operated. We will definitely be back!! The beds are pretty comfy too...:)

Ghost Hotel of Longboat Key- Full-length
Two young travelers explore the ruins of a hotel that was never completed. Begun by John Ringling, it was to have been called the Ritz-Carlton. The pair look over the ruins and see other parts of Longboat Key. The male is Tony Swain, son of producer Hack Swain. Hack Swain is also the narrator of the film. The hotel was torn down shortly after the film was made and now is the site of Arvida's Longboat Key Club. Produced by Hack Swain Productions.
