For more than a century, the Lorain Lighthouse has stood tall in this harbor, representing Lorain's early growth and it's historic relationship with Lake Erie shipping. Called The Jewel of the Port, it has been a beacon to captains of commerce and to all who call Lorain Home.
Aerial Agents had the distinct pleasure of capturing this Lake Erie treasure for the Lorain Historical Society and producing this video for the Carnegie Center for all vistors to enjoy.

Lorain /ləˈreɪn/ is a city in Lorain County, Ohio, United States. The municipality is located in northeastern Ohio on Lake Erie, at the mouth of the Black River, approximately 30 miles west of Cleveland. As of the 2010 census, the city had a total population of 64,097, making it Ohio's tenth largest city and the largest in Lorain County by population. Lorain is part of the Lorain-Cleveland Metropolitan Statistical Area, more commonly known as Greater Cleveland.
The city is notable for its deindustrialized economy, formerly being home to the American Ship Building Company Lorain Yard, Ford Motor Company Lorain Assembly Plant, and United States Steel Corporation's sprawling steel mill on the city's south side. The city faces many similar issues to other Rust Belt cities, including population decline and urban decay. Poverty in the city is above the national average

Mr. P. Explores... An Abandoned Drywall Plant (Lorain, Ohio)
Last spring, I had the privilege of exploring a once thriving manufacturing plant in Lorain, Ohio, that is now an abandoned and slowly moldering post-industrial wreck and shadow of its former self. The facility once manufactured drywall used in construction, but all of the larger equipment used to do so had been removed when the plant closed. That still left some amazing sites to see within the building. Five levels of platforms and connecting accessways made for a harrowing yet interesting explore. Check out the highlights of the adventure and enjoy!
PS: There are a few works of rather coarse graffiti on the walls as you tour. The authors are obviously not poets, nor are they artistes. Fair warning.

VOTE FOR 4 - Lorain County Issue 4
Issue 4 is about protecting our community. In the past year, state funding to Lorain County and our interest income has decreased. In the past three years, County revenues have dropped from $60 million to $48 million, forcing the County to make drastic cuts. Some of these cuts-most notably laying off Sheriffs Deputies have affected our safety.
1. Issue 4 will allow the County to provide the safety that residents and our businesses deserve. Without Issue 4, the County will have to close an entire wing of the jail, causing inmates to be set free. The County will also have to lay off more sheriffs deputies, resulting in decreased response times and less road patrol coverage.
2. The cost of Issue 4 is $6.89 per month-about 23 cents per day. If Issue 4 passes, residents will see NO increase in taxes.
3. Without Issue 4, the County will be forced to end vital economic development, transportation and human service programs to subsidize safety.
4. Issue 4 is crucial to our Countys safety and future.
