America's Most Haunted - French Quarter, New Orleans (Halloween 2012)
Take a haunted tour of New Orleans and learn about the story of ghosts.
Hi. My name is Sidney Smith. I am the owner of Haunted History Tour, here in New Orleans. Tonight, you are going to be taking the Haunted History Tour. With your tour guide, Renee Lazair.
Hello. My name is Renee Lazair. Today we will be taking a walking tour of the French quarter. The sights of actual documented hauntings. Folks, we are here at the number one most haunted building in the French quarter. This behind me right here is the La Lare' mansion. Also known as The Blight of New Orleans. 1830s a woman by the name of Delfine La Lare' inhierited 3 million dollars from her grandparents. She used that fortune to purchase this mansion, she moves in with her doctor husband. Dr. Luis Leonard La Lare'. So great was her taste that she had the entire first floor gutted out and converted into a ballroom. Complete with an Italian marble floor.
Over the years, during her parties, people noticed she like disappeared and show up in an entirely new dress. Well, her last night in New Orleans, it would be revealed why she was having to change her dress. Mid-way through a party, fire breaks out in the kitchen, which is now the parking garage. Fire department enters and they quickly put out the small grease fire. But they over hear the slaves talking about the atrocities going on inside. They exit the kitchen, enter the ballroom, empty all the party guests out onto this sidewalk, much like you are all standing right now. Of course the fire fighters they enter this building and make their way up to the third floor. There they make a very ghastly discovery. One room, several victims in various states of torture.
First, the which is a woman face down on the floor. Her arms and legs have been surgically removed from her one by one. Found a woman inside of a box. Had to take this box apart to get her out of it. That is when they realized that her bones and joints had been broken and dislocated so she could be folded up and put into that box. Two men are shackled against the wall. Both their faces horribly disfigured. Only thing keeping them alive, the maggots. Last person found is a woman. No cuts or marks or bruises, but visibly shaken. Fire fighters unlock her. Instead of her thanking them for setting her free from these people, she takes off running. Comes crashing out of that window, which you now see bricked up on the third floor. On her way down her neck hits the gally railing snapping her neck, flopping her dead in the street in front of all the party guests. I cannot wait for Halloween.

Shanghai Cabaret 2019 by Chas Hamilton and the Phnom Penh Players
The Phnom Penh Players are proud to welcome you into a world of decadence and debauchery in, Shanghai Cabaret!
The inspiration for Shanghai Cabaret came from the musical Cabaret and Berlin Stories by Christopher Isherwood. Set in Shanghai in 1941, against the background of Japanese occupation. This musical adaptation introduces new characters and songs from the period.
Hundreds of cabaret clubs flourished in Shanghai in the 1930’s till 1941.
The clubs proved to be a powerful sexual contact zone, a fantasy space for border and boundary crossing, allowing people of different class, occupation, national and ethnic backgrounds to experiment with, explore and expand their sexual experiences and identities both in fiction and in reality. It was also a sanctuary for refugees from Europe, as official papers were not required.
The “yellow music,” as it was labelled, played in the clubs was deemed to be associated with eroticism and sex and was denounced by Mao and the communist party of China.
The main protagonists are the MC, who introduces us to the performers of the Shangri-la club. David, a struggling English writer who is finding himself and Rosie, a carefree cabaret singer who has her head in the clouds.
Their relationship is juxtaposed with Wong and Otto, an older couple who find comfort in each other.
Various forms of business enterprises are exemplified through the characters of Zhang and Roxanne.
The characters’ journeys play out against a background of historic events that shape their lives and destinies.
The decadent world of cabaret clubs came to end when the Japanese finally occupied the international settlement in 1941. It was the end of an era.

Performance Notes
In the early 70s, the Grateful Dead started building improvisations around a lively little riff based on an E Major 7th chord that reminded quite a few people of the rhythm guitar part from the great 60s soul hit by Archie Bell and the Drells, “Tighten Up.” Eventually, that lick evolved into the foundation of one of the most enduring songs in the Dead catalog, “Eyes Of The World,” which made its recorded debut on “Wake Of The Flood” in 1973. All these years later, the song remains a highlight of many a live show, as you’ll hear in this version, with instrumental solo contributions by John Mayer, Jeff Chimenti and Oteil Burbridge. - Gary Lambert

Dead & Company was formed in 2015 when the Grateful Dead’s Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann and Bob Weir joined forces with artist and musician John Mayer, Allman Brothers’ bassist Oteil Burbridge, and Fare Thee Well and RatDog keyboardist Jeff Chimenti. The result was one of the most successful touring bands of the decade. The inaugural tour kicked off in the fall of 2015 with two sold-out shows at the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York City and ended with two sold-out performances at the ‘Fabulous’ Forum in Inglewood, California.
Since then, the band has completed five tours, playing to more than 1.5 million fans, and has become a record-breaking stadium act. Dead & Company has headlined iconic stadiums across the country including Folsom Field, Autzen Stadium, Citi Field, Fenway Park and Dodger Stadium. Additionally, the band broke Wrigley Field’s all-time concert attendance record in 2017.
