13,000 Feet above sea level at Loveland Ski Area in the Colorado Rockies. The hardest part about skiing is dodging all the people learning how to ski and snowboard. Loveland was a Very nice ski area even though all the lifts were not open yet it was still a lot of fun.

Short trip back out to Colorado. Hiked Plymouth Loop Trail. Got a surprise 8 inch+ of snow, so decided to go skiing at Loveland Ski Resort. Afterwards, we relaxed at Indian Hot Springs in Idaho Springs. Sorry for the crappy editing, this was the first time I tried. Just recently found the video to upload.

GoPro - A Day @ Loveland Ski Area - Blue Skies & Fresh Powder
The Loveland Ski Area is in the western United States, located near the town of Georgetown, Colorado. Adjacent to the Continental Divide and Interstate 70, Loveland is within the Arapahoe National Forest. It is one of the closest ski areas to the Denver metropolitan area and Front Range corridor, making it popular with locals.
The company is operated by Virginia Lee Upham of Mineral Wells, Texas, widow of previous owner Chet Upham.
The Loveland Ski Area is the combination of the Loveland Basin and Loveland Valley ski areas. The two areas, formerly connected by a double chairlift, are now served by bus. The area is one of Colorado’s highest ski areas with a summit of 13,010 ft (3,965 m) and the second highest lift-served areas in North America at 12,697 ft (3,870 m). The ski area takes its name from adjacent Loveland Pass, which separates it from the nearby Arapahoe Basin ski area, on the west side of the Divide via U.S. Route 6.
The ski area is situated on the east side of the Eisenhower Tunnel, through which I-70 crosses the Continental Divide. Because of its lofty elevation, Loveland is typically one of the first ski areas to open; the earliest opening record on October 7, 2009. It also has the most first victories (five and one tie) in recent years. It is generally regarded as the closest major ski area open to the Denver market. Due to its lack of on-site lodging, Loveland often has shorter lift lines and less-expensive lift tickets, particularly midweek.
Loveland Basin Ski Area
The Basin is the larger of the two areas that compose Loveland Ski Area. It features a vertical drop of 2,410 feet (735 m), a base of 10,800 feet (3,292 m) and a summit of 13,010 feet (3,965 m). The Basin is home to 6 of the 8 lifts and 85% of the 1,800 skiable acres. Another feature of the Basin is the vast terrain above the timberline.
The Ridge @ Loveland is the lift served area off chair 9 at an elevation of 12,697 feet (3,870 m) and is hikeable to the summit at 13,010 feet (3,965 m). It features almost entirely Black and Double Black runs. It also has 360 degree vistas that stretch across and beyond the Continental Divide.
Loveland Basin also has a Terrain park named Love Park. It is situated along the Tempest run off of the #1 lift. The Park has terrain for everyone from beginners to advanced riders and includes Rails, Funboxes, Tabletop jumps, Kickers. The Park occasionally hosts competitions like the Vert Alert and the Rail Jams.
Loveland Race Club is also located within the Valley. The Club practices and races at the upper end of the Valley’s Switchback Trail. Practices are held every afternoon and races are held on the weekend. The Club also has a lodge just below the base of Chair 3.
There is a big race that happens at Loveland Valley every year called the Loveland Derby that is put on by the Loveland Race Club.
Ski Patrol
Loveland has a combination volunteer and paid patrol that services the mountain and leads the way for other volunteer patrols with their extensive camaraderie. It is one of the few patrols in the Rocky Mountain Division that has an active young adult program, who share the same responsibilities as their adult compatriots.
Proposed Olympic Venue
When the International Olympic Committee awarded the 1976 Winter Olympics to Denver in May 1970, the local organizers' proposal included the development of Mount Sniktau as the primary venue for alpine ski racing for downhill and giant slalom, with slalom at Loveland Ski Area. By early 1972, it was decided to move the alpine events to Vail because the proposals did not meet the Olympic standards. After the Colorado voters, in November, rejected public funding for the Olympics, it was relocated to Innsbruck, Austria.
Plane crash
Wichita State University football team plane crash
On a clear Friday afternoon in early October 1970, a chartered airplane carrying half of the Wichita State University football team crashed just northeast of the ski area. A total of forty were on board and only nine survived; the cause was attributed to several pilot errors. First responders were motorists (I-70/US-6) and construction workers at the Eisenhower Tunnel.

Snowboarding Loveland Colorado & Georgetown Chocolates with Good Tunes!
Enjoying a day off with a little snowboarding adventure after getting stuck in Loveland's parking lot with my bald tires just days before I bought snow tires! Then getting some of my favorite lavender chocolates in Georgetown, CO!
Trying out the Polaroid XS100 action cam in the snow, 720 @ 60FPS this time.
Messing around with video editing...
Blue skies by my house, 5 inches or so of powder and dumping at Loveland Ski Area. A beautiful day, not to cold even for Loveland! Took it easy mostly on the front side, couldn't really see anything on the rest of the mountain... maybe in the next snowboarding video! Then had to stop in Georgetown at the Georgetown Valley Candy Company for some Amaretto Fudge and Rose Lavender Sea Salt Chocolates!
Was hoping to have the cam on my helmet but I discovered that my helmet is too old, no slots for straps and the laminate was peeling off from the mount adhesive. I did my best MacGyver-ing when I got home and next time it'll be on my helmet. So this one is all hand-held video, never dropped it!
Stuck some fun music in there, I'm not making any money on this and I'm giving credit for their sweet tunes, so go buy their music!

This video was taken to showcase the Slacker Half Marathon 2019. However it also showcases the City of Georgetown as well.
Come join us for the highest DOWNHILL half marathon in the country and possibly the highest DOWNHILL 4 Mile Run!
Do not be misled by the name but this is the Slacker Half Marathon/4M Race! It is the highest downhill half marathon in the country–beginning at 10,630 feet and traveling over a rolling hill descent to 8400 feet! The half marathon begins at Loveland Ski Area--BASIN and travels the first mile on dirt roads before joining a non-motorized paved bike path for five miles through a Forest Service area of wetlands and natural waterfalls on a trail built to sustain the weight of an ambulance!
Georgetown is a Territorial Charter Municipality that is the county seat of Clear Creek County, Colorado, United States.[6] The former silver mining camp along Clear Creek in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains was established in 1859 during the Pike's Peak Gold Rush. The federally designated Georgetown-Silver Plume Historic District comprises Georgetown, the neighboring town of Silver Plume, and the Georgetown Loop Historic Mining & Railroad Park between the two towns. The town population was 1,034 at the 2010 census.[7] The Georgetown Post Office has the ZIP code 80444.[5]
The town sits at an elevation of 8,530 feet (2,600 m) above sea level, nestled in the mountains near the upper end of the valley of Clear Creek in the mountains west of Denver along Interstate 70. Although a small town today, the town was a historic center of the mining industry in Colorado during the late 19th century, earning the nickname the Silver Queen of Colorado. It has evolved into a lively historical summer tourist center today with many preserved structures from the heyday of the Colorado Silver Boom. The town stretches roughly north-south along Clear Creek, hemmed in by the mountains, with the historic downtown located at the southern (upper) end and modern development located at the northern (lower) end of town.

Driving Loveland Pass Colorado U.S. Route 6 4k
Loveland Pass is a high mountain pass over the Continental Divide in Colorado. It's a bypass that takes you around the Johnson / Eisenhower tunnels. Loveland pass is one of if not the highest mountain road that is open most of the winter. You have skiing up on top as well as this being a hazmat route...trucks hauling hazardous materials such as fuel cannot use the Johnson / Eisenhower tunnels. This footage was taken during my trip to Maroon Bells, so it has some fall foliage as well..mostly the closer you get to Keystone Colorado.

Loveland Pass timelapse
Loveland Pass is a high mountain pass in the western United States, at an elevation of 11,990 feet (3,655 m) above sea level in the Rocky Mountains of north-central Colorado.
It is located on the Continental Divide in the Front Range west of Denver on U.S. Route 6. The twisty road is considered to be especially treacherous during the winter months. A steep, steady 6.7% grade, along with numerous hairpin turns on either side, make it difficult to snowplow the road regularly. Loveland is the highest mountain pass in the world that regularly stays open during a snowy winter season. When the Eisenhower Tunnel opened in March 1973, it allowed motorists on Interstate 70 to avoid crossing the pass directly. Trucks that cannot pass through the tunnel (those carrying hazardous materials and those over 13 ft 11 in (4.24 m) in height) must still take US 6 across Loveland Pass, 800 vertical feet (244 m) above the tunnel. Loveland Ski Area is located at the eastern end of the pass, and Arapahoe Basin is on the west side. The pass itself is a popular destination for backcountry skiers. Occasionally during the winter, the pass road may be closed by a blizzard and all traffic must use the tunnel, even the normally forbidden HAZMAT-carrying vehicles. In the event of less serious winter storms, chain restrictions are often imposed. The pass is named for William A.H. Loveland, a resident of Golden during the late 19th century who was president of the Colorado Central Railroad. The town of Loveland, which is not located near Loveland Pass, is also named after him. source Wikipedia

Colorado Dashcam Breckenridge To Boulder - Labor Day 2019 - 9/2/2019
It's Labor Day 2019. What a beautiful day for a drive in the mountains. There are clear blue skies and mountainscapes in all directions. Starting at the south entrance to Breckenridge and driving north through town on Main Street, then continuing north on Colorado State Highway 9 to Farmers Korner. Turn east on Swan Mountain Road and skirt the southeast boundary of Dillon Reservoir before reaching the intersection with U.S. Route 6. Turn east on Route 6 and drive past Keystone Resort, before starting the climb to Arapahoe Basin Ski Area and eventually reaching the top of Loveland Pass at 11,991 feet above sea level. From there, it's a long descent to Loveland Ski Area and Interstate 70, just outside of the east entrance of the Eisenhower Tunnel. The trip is made longer by the holiday drivers making their way back to Denver. Upon reaching I-70, it's time to exercise patience in the long line of cars traveling east. Once past Georgetown, it's just a little farther to reach the I-70 Mountain Express Lane. Traffic seems to open up and soon Idaho Springs passes by, right before Route 6 splits off from I-70 and descends through Clear Creek Canyon to Golden. At Golden, it's time to head north on U.S. Route 93 all the way to Boulder.
