Hell's Gates - A Short Documentary
Hell's Gates was built in the early 20th century and is located in the east part of Lubbock, overgrown by the park forest around it. While we are no ghost hunters, the site has always fascinated me. In this brief documentary some friends and I decided to uncover the history behind one of Lubbock, Texas' most notorious haunted sites, Hell's Gates. As the location is still a popular site for mountain-bike trails, photographers, local fisherman, and angsty teenagers, we had many opportunities to ask passerby's opinions of the site and to share their experiences with us. The site is adjacent to another spooky location, the cemetery containing the rock legend Buddy Holly's grave. We do not cover the cemetery or its paranormal activity in this film but if you're one for adventure and late-night chills, venture forth at your own risk...

We have left New Mexico behind and made our way to the great state of Texas. Our first stop is Lubbock, Texas. We visit all the Buddy Holly things we can including his park, JI Allison House, and the Lubbock Hall of fame and visit the outside of the Buddy Holly Center which was sadly closed we then visited his gravesite to pay our respects. Then we head off to Fort Worth and visit a Parton's Pizza - a staple that's been open for nearly 40 years!

Flash Flooding hits Lubbock, TX - 5/24/2019
Severe thunderstorms training over Lubbock TX caused flash flooding across the area, making roads nearly impassible, and flooding fields and homes.
