November 11th, 2016 -- Short TTYDSWYSAH sketch on the Channel today! For those who are not familiar...TTYDSWYSAH = Things that you don't see when you stay at home.
During a regular Multi-Species angling session, an unimaginable creatures surfaces from a small shallow pond! The 0.52lbs Golden Shiner (Notemigonus crysoleucas) in this video is certainly a trophy fish, breaking two state records in the United States of America -- Kentucky's and North Dakota's. Give it a few more weeks, and that fishing will be breaking Wisconsin's state record as well. Hah.
Sadly, the PA Fish & Boat Commission doesn't really have a state record for the Golden Shiner! Even so, this fish made my day. :)
The full fishing session will be here on the Channel in a week or so, after a few other videos. Heh.

Sold lyrics:
I see you’re losing your mind
I see you’re wasting some time
Why are you in such a grind?
Don’t worry I’ll tell your momma you’re doing fine
Lies
You told me I was the one with the gun and a tool kit
Why would you pick on a little white boy turned misfit
I don’t know what you’re doing to me
cuz it feels likeI’m running in circles
while I’m getting sold off for free
I know I’m easy to fool
But I ain’t cut open just to bleed
I see you’re making al the rules
But you’re just giving me more to feed
Lies
You told me I was the one with the gun and a tool kit
Why would you pick on a little white boy turned misfit
I don’t know what you’re doing to me
cuz it feels like I’m running in circles
while I’m getting sold off for free
You can’t sell that for free x7
You can’t sell that for...

John Stango is a leader of Contemporary American Pop Art
John Stango is an American print-maker, artist and painter born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania US. When John Stango was born in 1958, his parents were high on expectations that he would grow up to becoming an influential man in the society. His mother Frances Elaine Rockwell was a painter. It was only going to be a matter of time before John could follow the ways of the family and become a great painter himself. He started painting as young boy and when the time came to join college, Stango opted for Tyler School of Art at Temple University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Graphic Design. He perfected his art skills after college and is now one of the most accomplished American artists alive.
John Stango Artwork
After graduating at Tyler School of Art, John Stango was hired by Macy's and Bloomingdale's department stores as a display artist. Restless as he had always been from early childhood, Stango moved on and began creating silk screen t-shirts before turning his attention to full-time painting. He currently works at an historic warehouse just outside Philadelphia. Some of the well known paintings by John Stango include Batman and Elvis, Mickey Mouse and Heineken, Audrey Hepburn and Lucky Strike, among other popular artworks. John is the painter of the infamous Stewardess series that depict retro stewardess and are titled after current-day beauties. Notable paintings include Judi, Wendy, Ginger, Buttercup, Mimi and the well-like Patrick that is dedicated to a cross-dresser Steward.

He brings in an American flavor to his art pieces, something that most modern US artists are struggling to achieve over the past few years. With a world-wide following drawn to his distinctive American Muscle Car style, Stango carries the pop art movement into the 21st Century. As a crowd started gathering around, security showed up.
Why Benjamin Franklin Didn't Die When Lighting Strikes Him ??
In elementary school, most of us were taught that Benjamin Franklin discovered electricity by tying a key to a kite and standing in a thunderstorm. Though Franklin is believed to have completed his lightning experiment, he wasn’t the first to do so. Nor was he the first scientist to study charged particles. Sorry everyone, your childhood science teacher sort of lied to you. So let’s clear things up.
Founding Father/diplomat/inventor/innovator/Philadelphian/total cad Benjamin Franklin became interested in the field of electricity when his friend and fellow scientist Peter Collinson sent him an electricity tube. Franklin investigated how charged objects interacted and came to the conclusion that lightning was merely a huge spark
It was during this time, in 1750, that Franklin sent Collinson a letter proposing an experiment that would draw lightning through a 30-foot rod. He not only hypothesized that lightning and electricity were linked, but that metal objects could be used to draw lightning in order to protect homes from being hit. But Franklin didn’t feel that he could get his conductor high enough into the clouds to do any good, so he never completed the experiment. Instead, in 1752, he devised a new plan: sending a kite into the air.
Little did Franklin know that his original letter to Collinson, once translated to French, was causing quite a stir in Paris. To test Franklin’s hypothesis, naturalist Thomas-Francois Dalibard used a large metal pole to conduct electricity from lightning on May 10, 1752. In Dalibard’s writing of his Paris experiment,he concluded that Franklin’s hypothesis was right.
It was exactly one month after the Dalibard experiment, on June 10, 1752, that Franklin (supposedly) performed his famous kite and key experiment. Franklin stood outside under a shelter during a thunderstorm and held on to a silk kite with a key tied to it. When lightning struck, electricity traveled to the key and the charge was collected in a Leyden jar.
Here’s the tricky bit—there is a lot of doubt between historians as to whether or not Franklin ever conducted the experiment.
In October of 1752,Franklin wrote a brief statement in the Pennsylvania Gazettesaying that the iron rod experiment had been achieved in Philadelphia, but “in a different and more easy Manner,” with a kite. But as his previous thought experiment was being replicated across the continent with great success, this was only of minor scientific interest and Franklin never really elaborated on it. Also, he never said that he was the one who did the experiment. It only became a story 15 years later when Joseph Priestley wrote a full descriptionin which he describes Franklin as bringing “lightning from the clouds” to the ground.
As modern scientists have come to discover, if Franklin had performed the experiment as delineated in Priestley’s account, Franklin would have been struck dead on the spot. In his 1752 article, Franklin claimed you could touch the key and feel a spark; however, that much charge would have sizzled his insides. But other historians read his original statement in the Gazette and think it’s been misinterpreted. Instead of getting hit by lightning, the kite just picked up the ambient electric charge—Franklin was lucky that his kite never got a direct hit.
So, while we can credit Franklin for writing up the experiment that posits whether lightning is the same as electricity and can be drawn through metal, he was not the first to actually perform said experiment and write about its results. In fact, there are few sources that can prove Franklin ever did the kite experiment at all—we have to trust his word that it happened.
The Truth About George Washington
George Washington was unanimously elected as the first president of the United States of America after winning the American Revolutionary War as the Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army.
Washington was first called Father of his Country three years after the beginning of the Revolutionary War – a status he earned not only for his military accomplishments, but also because of the numerous virtues he was perceived to possess as a human being.
But within Washington's impeccable character, one quality stood out the most – a unique immunity to the corrupting effects of power, which stemmed from his selfless nature. I often say of George Washington that he was one of the few in the whole history of the world who was not carried away by power, stated Robert Frost, America's great poet-philosopher.
After overthrowing the tyranny of the British Empire, Americans were unwilling to trust anyone with the power of a central government, yet in George Washington they saw a man who had transcended human fallibility. Had he lived in the days of idolatry, the Pennsylvania Journal noted in 1777, Washington would have been worshipped as a god.
How could such a man ever abuse his power, let alone become a tyrant? Furthermore, if men like Washington exist and can be elected into power, perhaps the United States government would never follow in the footsteps of the hated British Empire.
Does the mortal George Washington live up to his immortal legend? What is the Truth About George Washington?

I welcome you to visit my numismatic ebay store - US, World, Bullion, and more:
Here’s my fourth NumisNews video. For those who don’t know what NumisNews is, it’s a new format that I recently introduced. I pick an interesting subject that’s in a major numismatic publication and then make a video discussing and highlighting the key points. Today’s NumisNews focuses on the PCGS Exhibit at the 2018 World’s Fair of Money.
As I’ve mentioned in my previous videos, the ANA, or the American Numismatic Association, is hosting their annual World’s Fair of Money Coin Show from August 14 to 18, 2018. Each year a different major city is chosen and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is the lucky winner this year. Numismatists, young and old, from all around the world gather together to spend the week buying, selling, trading, and talking about coins. Exhibits are also on display, such as a 1913 Liberty Head “V” Nickel and a 1792 Half Disme, once owned by David Rittenhouse, the first director of the US Mint in the 1790s. But one exhibit in particular, I found very interesting.
PCGS, a leading coin grading and authenticating company, will be displaying several once-in-a-lifetime coins that you won’t want to miss. First, they will have a storied 1787 Brasher Doubloon. For those who don’t know, this Doubloon was scheduled to be the first American gold coin for circulation, however the State of New York declined his offer and the pieces he minted were kept only as patterns. Ephraim Brasher, the designer of the coin, also minted several New York copper pieces, which are on display alongside the iconic gold coin. Some versions include this 1787 Excelsior with a Standing Indian and Eagle (the finest of only 14 known specimens) and this 1787 Excelsior with the Eagle facing left (the finest and only known Mint State example). A few other types of the New York coppers are available to admire, but PCGS has not yet provided photographs of these pieces.
Again, these coins will be on display at the ANA’s World’s Fair of Money in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from August 14 to August 18, 2018. PCGS will be at Booth #1431.
I will be at the show all week working as a page. If you attend, please come by and say hello.
I credit the ANA’s official website, PCGS’s official website, and coinnews.net for my information. Thank you for viewing and see you next time!
