This slideshow presents photos of the gallery exhibition Playground of America which opened September 9, 2014 at the Lumiere Brothers Center for Photography in Moscow. The show was the first to present Harold Feinstein's black and white photography in Russia, with a focus on New York City street photography and Coney Island.

US photography exhibition in Moscow closes after complaints
(25 Sep 2016) JOCK STURGES MOSCOW EXHIBITION CLOSES AFTER COMPLAINTS
A Moscow exhibition by well-known US photographer Jock Sturges was closed on Sunday (25 September 2016) due to numerous public complaints.
The complaints started following a Live Journal (LJ) post criticizing the exhibition, which allegedly included photos of naked children.
LJ blogger Lena Miro accused organizers of the exhibition of promoting paedophilia and called for Russian authorities to get involved.
A dozen demonstrators arrived at The Lumiere Brothers Center for Photography, the exhibition's venue, demanding for it to be closed immediately.
Eventually exhibition curators announced that Absence of Shame would in fact be closed, but allowed journalists access before shutting the doors.
Jock Sturges is a photographer best known for photographing nude women and adolescents.

Palaiologos Reincarnated 28 May 2016 Vladimir 'Saviour Of The World' Putin visits the Protaton Church in Karyes, on Mount Athos, lighting a candle, kissing the Black Madonna and sitting on the Emperor's throne. The yellow with a black crowned double-headed eagle flag, was the symbol of the Paulician Paleologues.
A Black Madonna or Black Virgin is a statue or painting of Mary in which she, and oftentimes the infant Jesus are depicted with dark skin, especially those created in Europe in the medieval period or earlier. The Black Madonnas are generally found in Catholic and Orthodox countries. The term refers to a type of Marian statue or painting of mainly medieval origin (12th to 15th centuries), with dark or black features.

The Protaton church at Karyes - Protaton, Karyes, Mt.
Karyes (Greek: Καρυές) is a settlement in Mount Athos. It is the seat of the clerical and secular administration of the Athonite monastic state. The 2001 Greek census reported a population of 233 inhabitants. It is the largest settlement in Mount Athos.
The major church at Karyes is the Protaton, which is the church of the Protos, or president of the monastic community.
In the year 1283, Latin Crusaders during the reign of the Byzantine Emperor Michael Paleologos, attacked Mount Athos. They tortured and hanged the Protos, and sacked the Protaton, murdering many of the monks. These monks are commemorated as martyrs by the Orthodox Church on December 5 (for those churches which follow the traditional Julian Calendar, December 5 falls on December 18 of the Gregorian Calendar).
He thanked the community for welcoming him warmly and praised the acts that are conducted on the peninsula that is home to 20 monasteries.
