State of Colorado Designs New Logo
In case you've been under a rock for the past few days, the state of Colorado announced a new logo for the purposes of branding our state. And it's caused quite a stir...
The new logo, along with an accompanying slogan - It's our nature - is the focal point of a new branding campaign for the state and will be used in every aspect of state government: signs, letterhead, tourism promotion, vehicle emblems, business cards and others.
According to Colorado's chief marketing officer, Aaron Kennedy, while the state has ...a state flag and seal... Colorado has never had a unified brand. Why is that important? Well, in a nationwide survey, when shown our state flag, more respondents said it represented Chicago instead of Colorado! Kennedy also says the new branding ...will not only help Colorado attract talent and jobs, but also save public dollars by eliminating the need to manage individual brands for each agency and department in state government.
Finally, the new design - by Denver designer Evan Hecox - didn't cost the state anything as numerous artists donated their time and talent toward the campaign.
So what do you think? Do you like the new logo? Is this effort well spent? Let us know in the comments.
Give Back Yoga Foundation
First Annual Seeds of Service
September 11th, 2013 at the Lyons Farmette
Click here to purchase tickets or make a donation!
Have I told you lately that I love yoga... and helping veterans? Last week, our client Shanti Medina told us about the Give Back Yoga Foundation, and we liked the idea so much that we decided to become a sponsor. Here's why
Veterans with Post Traumatic Stress use yoga as a method to regain control over a nervous system that is always on edge. Since trauma lies in the body, mind, and spirit, a holistic, integrated treatment approach that includes mindful yoga practices can be used to re-connect with ourselves as we are in the present moment, letting us feel comfortable in our own skin.
The Give Back Yoga Foundation helps provide free Yoga For Veterans Toolkits to veterans with Post Traumatic Stress, and we were proud to sponsor their first annual Seeds of Service farm-to-table dinner, to be held on September 11th at Lyons Farmette in Lyons, CO.
All funds will be used to meet Give Back Yoga's 2013 initiative to reach 10,000 veterans with their evidence-based, highly effective Mindful Yoga Therapy for Veterans toolkits. They have already reached 8,0000 veterans across the country and with our help they can meet this goal! You can find out all the details, purchase tickets and make your donation here:
Facebook Contest Rules Update: Run Facebook Contests without Using Third Party Apps!
This week, Facebook finally relaxed their contest guidelines, and you no longer need to use a third party app to run contests!
Until recently, Facebook required Pages to use third party apps to run contests.
According to their blog, now, promotions may be administered on Page Timelines and in apps on Facebook. For example, businesses can now:
Collect entries by having users post on the Page or comment/like a Page post
Collect entries by having users message the Page
Utilize likes as a voting mechanism
As before, however, businesses cannot administer promotions on personal Timelines.
There are still some restrictions -- especially regarding tagging.
It's OK to ask people to submit names of a new product in exchange for a chance to win a prize
It's not OK to ask people tag themselves in pictures of a new product in exchange for a chance to win a prize
Check out our show notes for more information, and feel free to contact us if you'd like help running a contest for your Page.
