Wahoo season runs from September to January in Madeira. Wahoo are one of the fastest fish in the Ocean, reaching speeds upto 78km/h.
700 lbs Blue Marlin - Madeira 2016
As an avid fisherman I've always wanted to try & catch the magnificent Blue Marlin.
(Strictly on a Tag & Return basis).
In September 2006 I got my chance, on the Island of Madeira. During an 8 hour trip on board ‘Freed’em” I hooked up on a estimated 500 lbs fish but unfortunately after approx 1 Hr battle the fish was lost at the side of the boat. It was recorded as a catch, however I never even got a glimpse of the fish itself.
I then tried my hand at various destinations around the world but without success. My luck was about to change however, with a return visit to Madeira in July 2016. I had booked up for 3 days on board “Our Mary” with Captain Jose Serrao & expert crew @ fishingmadeiraisland.com
