Elle a été construite entre 1646 et 1659 the heart of the CLTE history of Samarkand, one of the main cities of the ancient Silk Road.
The Registan today consists of a large plaza surrounded by three majestic madrasahs majolica decorated with geometric motifs: Ulugh Begh (left), Shir Dor (right), Tilla Kari (opposite). The view (instead of taking panoramic photo in the morning) was reached in the early 20th century by the Soviets, many buildings that littered the place, big madrassas have been restored.
The madrasa Ulugh Begh is the oldest, was built between 1417 and 1420. She is flanked by two minarets 33 m. Since its opening, it was the largest university in Muslim Central Asia, led by Ulugh Begh, were taught the Koran but also secular subjects such as astronomy or mathematics, which has not last very long because religious fanaticism has taken over.
Shir Dor madrasa, right, was built between 1619 and 1635. The decor of his great portal is famous because it contains representations of animals (tiger-lion with the sun, symbol of the ancient Zoroastrianism, the religion of Islam previous) which is normally forbidden in Islam. Both turquoise and green domes, bulbous fluted, are characteristic of the architectural style of Samarkand.
Tilla Kari madrasa (basically north) is structurally different from the others. Aside from its longest facade showing the cells of the madrasa students, (in other buildings, the cells facing the inner courtyard), it has a blue dome that covers the mosque is located inside the building. It was built between 1646 and 1659.

The Registan
The Registan was the heart of the ancient city of Samarkand of the Timurid dynasty, now in Uzbekistan. It was a public square, where people gathered to hear royal proclamations, heralded by blasts on enormous copper pipes called dzharchis - and a place of public executions. It is framed by three madrasahs (Islamic schools) of distinctive Islamic architecture

The Silk Road. Samarkanda [IgeoNews]
The Silk Road was one of the most important trade routes during the Middle Ages.
For many years, Chinese traders mainly transported by them not only silk, but also skins, tea and spices for gold and silver, precious stones and wool.
The route ran about 4,000 km from China to Eastern Europe, crossing South Asia and the Middle East. From the Chinese city of Xian, passed by other Chinese cities like Kashgar and Lanzhou, ran one of the cities of Kazastan, northern Afghanistan, as Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara, to reach Tehran and Ankara, as a prelude to its final destination Constantinople.
It was a dangerous road bandits to raid the caravans arranged in the most unexpected places.
It was not only trade route, but was way to meet and exchange civilizations of East and West.
Nor were those who the were used as an excellent means to expand their power: the Mongols in the thirteenth century took to create the great Mongol Empire, for example.
Of all the cities that fall in this route, you have to highlight one; Samarkand. It is a very large city and is located in what was once a desolate desert area halfway between the Amu and Syr Darya rivers Dria.
It is also one of the key points of the Silk Road, it was synonymous with shelter, art and business.
It was taken in 329 B.C. by Alexander the Great, who said: Everything I've heard from Maracanda (as they called the Greeks) is true, but is even more beautiful than I had imagined.
Under the rule of the Arabs, Samarkand became an important center of Islamic culture.
In this beautiful city we can find very important places from the historically and culturally rich tourist influx, such as madrasas (Ulugh Beg, Sherdar the group is located in the Plaza del Registan appears in this video, and Tilla Kari). There are also numerous visitables pantheons of the great figures of power in this city.
