Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center | Connecting Point | Feb. 20, 2017
The history of the Mahaiwe Theater in Great Barrington dates back to 1904 when a coalition of businessmen orchestrated the construction of the Theater as a resource for the community. Today the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center, has steadily presented a selection of music, dance, theatre, opera, and community discussions. Its year-round schedule enhances the quality of life for all those who reside in and visit the Berkshires. Great Barrington Night Life
Berkshire Mountains town of Great Barrington has got it going on. On a Friday night in January 2010 we swing by the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center after the James Taylor concert and meet fans Tammy Stein and her Twifties parents Claudia and Joel Goodman, and get a close-up of James at the benefit after-party. We visit restaurants Xicoh Tencatl and Aegean Breeze where we chat with the chef about his whole grilled fish dish. See our cozy fireplace bedroom at the Windflower Inn in a different video.

Stockbridge at Christmas 2014
This video shows a great annual event where Main Street in Stockbridge MA is closed for two hours to recreate Norman Rockwell's famous Christmas scene. This year Doc Pritchard came from Canton Ohio to drive my 1955 Mercury in to the set the tree on top for all to pose with. It's a worthwhile trip from anywhere in the world.

Hypnosia - The Wonder Show of the Universe - promo
Heather Fisch presents
HYPNOSIA ~ The Wonder Show of the Universe, is part old-style magic show, part social commentary and part boundary-pushing live theater experience. The show follows H.D. Psychek, a Napoleonic Eastern-European stage hypnotist and her alluring assistant Rhowena as they turn the traditional “magician with lovely assistant” dynamic on its head and shake out the coins from the pockets of its proverbial pants. Throughout the action, Psychek produces wondrous demonstrations with various contraptions, magical elixirs and audience participation. Tickets and information are available at mahaiwe.org.

Critical mass of international artists collaborate with local producer to bring audience an experience of genuine marvel.
GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. – Performance artist and local hero, Heather Fisch wants you to know that her newest live theater show, “Hypnosia - The Wonder Show of the Universe,” is a legitimate hypnosis show. But, we're not talking about run-of-the mill stage hypnosis here; this show deconstructs and reconstructs the basis of reality.
“After a haphazard exploration of trance states during the creation of my last theater project, two years ago, I became fascinated by the subconscious” says Fisch, “thats when I decided to study hypnosis.”
“Hypnosia” is part old-style magic show, part social commentary, and part boundary-pushing live theater experience. Premiering at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center on Aug. 18, the show is glittering, sexy, and cunningly contrived. Viewers are invited to access their deepest selves while cradled by the safety net of comedic absurdism.
“The hypnosis element was dangling in front of me like a low-hanging fruit,” says Fisch. “I’d love for this show to blow people’s minds open to new possibilities in their own lives and to continue unlocking our collectively untapped human potential.”
The show follows H.D. Psychek, a Napoleonic Eastern-European stage hypnotist played by Fisch, and her alluring assistant Rhowena, played by Amy Dawn Verebay, as they turn the traditional “magician with lovely assistant” dynamic on its head and shake out the coins from the pockets of its proverbial pants. Throughout the action, Psychek produces wondrous demonstrations with various contraptions, magical elixirs and audience participation.
A full score of live music features international musical artists Angel Espinoza of Puebla, Mexico, Tarcisio Ramos of Estância, Brazil, Brandon Vetrano of Brooklyn, New York and surprise guests from the Czech Republic and beyond.
Elaborate, surreal set pieces and ornate over-the-top costumes impart a richness that is sensual, tactile and gritty. With the help of set-design ace Leo ‘Of Twenty' from São Paulo, Brazil, media-design wizard Nicole Jaquis, hailing from three-hours-North-of-Bageshwar, India, and accomplished art and concept director Saadia Shaza, head of Barn Home’s esoterica and arts department, Fisch has created an awe-inspiring visual masterpiece.
In “Hypnosia - The Wonder Show of the Universe,” Fisch recovers a genuine experience of the marvelous and a sense of wonder, in a world from which it has long been banished.

How to be Happy? Here is a Formula/Checklist for Happiness based on Neuroscience and the actual demands of your brain. As far as I know it is the only one of it's kind, actually connecting the key areas of our life to the brain chemistry responsible for Happiness A Management System for Modern Life. Taking control and managing these areas of your life should have a very positive effect.
P.D.P.O.L.S - Life Management System and Checklist
Notes
1) A good, albeit clinical, meaning of life for all living things is: Survival, Procreation and Evolution.
2) Some determining factors may be: Self knowledge, Objectivity, Conscientiousness, Pragmatism, Perserverance, Empathy,
Altruism, Gratitude...
3) Happiness Is generally defined as Contentment or Satisfaction I'm going to extend it a little and say: A general state of satisfaction with the present, and a hopeful expectation of the future.
4) Sometimes in life we just get used to things that are having ill effects on us and we don't really know how profound the effect was until it has been dealt with.
5) P,D,P,O,L,S. Life Management System and Checklist. These are your areas for Life Management. Their origin is in your DNA. Your brain demands these things as they are the prerequisites to your survival and evolution. We can and do deny these things: at different levels, at different times, and for different reasons usually, insufficiently scrutinized Belief Systems. You can do this, but your brain will react with a brain chemistry not conducive to happiness. This is where the brain may fill in and cause some degree of obsessive behaviour toward primal needs ie Food-Shelter-Clothing,Sex,Alcohol,Drugs etc.in order to achieve a more natural state of satisfaction. When an area is out of line your brain demands you deal with it. Your brain is not unreasonable, it does not expect total fulfillment in each area as it would probably interpret that as non evolutionary. It only demands that you are working on them and therefore evolving. You are the master of your fate. It's all good news!
P.D.P.O.L.S A Checklist For The Life Management System
“P“...Purpose and Meaning in Life (See Notes)
“D“...Development (Your brain absolutely demands you keep making new connections. Boredom equals anxiety. If that anxiety is not burnt off you will have commensurate depression.
“P“...Pie (As in your piece of...the more correct word here would be “fairplay” but it is not as good for songs and doesn’t play into an upcoming project from Griffinheart, about getting your fair share).
“O“...Order (Organize something in your life that is messed up and see how you feel...Voila! Your brain interprets disorganization as threatening to your survival so it turns on some degree of fight or flight juice, ie Anxiety. If you don't react and fight or flight (ie. run like hell or pump some iron!) the juice backs up in your system and you will get a commensurate degree of depression. Anxiety not burnt off, always leads to a commensurate degree of depression. In a sick society filled with imposed unnatural anxieties that aren't burnt off, you have an epidemic of mainly low grade chronic sadness and depression. PDPOLS is magical for creation of an overall sense of Order. Your taking control. Thats better for Survival, Procreation and Evolution. Your brain likes that. It will reward you!
“L“...Love (affection of all kinds...dogs are good !. Society's harshest punishment ISOLATION !
“S“...Sync (Synchronization with Mother Nature is the Catch-All, at the end. If you develop a kind of Paleo way of looking at your behaviours it will simplify the management of this area. Evolution is slow it doesn't leap because some unscrupulous and misinformed people use Science and Technology to extract money from you! You just cannot screw with this woman she is a “ Shit Kickin Hard Ass Red Neck Woman - You just can't mess with her or yer gonna pay BIGTIME ! “
