Welcome to the Jungle - Makiki Loop Trail - Kid Hikes Oahu
#HikeHawaii #KidTravelHawaii #MyLittleCora
The Makiki Valley Loop Trail is right behind the Hawaii Nature Center and is about 2.4 miles long. This trail is made up of 3 individual trails: the Kaneolole Trail, the Makiki Valley Trail, and the Maunalaha Trail and connects to a longer 8 mile hike. Hiking with a 4 year old, we opted to hit the loop and made it about 3/4 of a mile in and then turned around. There is a lot to see and we will surely be back to this easy to hike trail. While we didn't catch any on camera we saw and heard many different birds. There is a small stream that feeds a taro patch and I'm sure we also saw a banana grove. The trail is wide and easy to navigate with your child. Hope you enjoyed this video! Get out and hike.

Hike Hawaii - Upper Lulumahu Falls -2018
(5 Mi/ Intermediate/ Ridge/ Manoa)
After a long hiking hiatus Lainey joined me as we took a short side route, involved some seriously steep scrambling down, off the main trail to Konahuanui (the cloud shrouded pair of peaks at the back of Manoa Valley). After the muddy descent we found two small, but lovely waterfalls on Lulumahu stream. After a cooling dip we then endured the glue-like mud a second time, on the steep return to the main trail, before heading back.

Manoa Falls Trail
Aloha! The Manoa Falls trail on Oahu is one of the most popular hikes in the Honolulu area, mainly because it is easily accessible from Waikiki, either via car or city bus. We booked a tour with Oahu Nature Tours and enjoyed an early start and interesting commentary from our knowledgeable guide. The waterfall is only 1.5 miles from the nearest road and a relatively easy walk. It can get a bit muddy and slippery in places but the scenery is gorgeous. We recommend an early start because it is a very popular walk and tends to get quite crowded by midday. Enjoy!

Hamama Falls | Hiking in Hawaii
This fun and easy-moderate hike is in Kaneohe. It is located on private property, so go at your own risk. There is a beautiful natural swimming pool along the trail. It is about 3.3 miles out and back. The trail is pretty easy and flat until you get to the swimming hole. Shortly after that, it is a good incline all the way to the waterfall, but once you get there it will all be worth it! Parking is in a residential neighborhood, so please be courteous of the residents.

Tantalus Hidden Waterfall - OAHU HAWAII
It was a great morning to go hiking! The rain poured on us in the beginning which is why I couldn't take any videos for the first part of the trail but all through that and after it ended, the kids were in high spirits and it was a great hike out a beautiful waterfall!
Hawaii’s Manoa Cliff Hiking Trail
We're going for a hike on Hawaii's Manoa Cliff Trail. It is one of the great hiking spots in Honolulu, on Oahu in Hawaii.

link for volunteering
Today I'm sending you a video postcard from my home in Honolulu, Hawaii. We are going to take a hike in the mountains, looking out over Manoa Valley.
This view gives you a good summary of the walking conditions on the trail. It's really quite easy, mostly level dirt.
In this Google Earth view you can see that Waikiki is just a few miles from the mountains, and you hop in your car and drive up the hill, you'll soon reach the beginning of the Manoa Cliff trail where the hike begins.
Zooming into Manoa Valley with the mountains around it, we gain a clear view looking at the route we will take on the hike. It goes along the side of the ridge. That's why it's called the Manoa Cliff trail.
The easy route getting there is along Round Top Drive. It's a nice scenic, curving road. When you get to the address 4059 on Round Top you have arrived. Enter the trail directly from the road.
Quite the dramatic and beautiful location and it's an easy hike. You could walk in and back out again in less than two hours. Signage marks the entrance and cautions you not to fall off the cliff. Take normal precautions and you'll be just fine.
It's very close to town, takes maybe 20 minutes to drive up here, and then you park your car along the road and you enter right through the gateway here into the Manoa Cliff trail, two miles long, quite level and gives you some wonderful views down into the Manoa Valley as well as a lovely forest hike. So let's go check it out.
All right were going, going up the trail, and it is a very easy trail, nice forest floor, leaves and the few roots and today there's no mud. We're lucky because it is not been raining lately. If it's a rainy day, better to not come up here. It will be a little muddy. You don't need that. But on a day when there's been no rain, and especially here, there's been no rain for the last couple of days, which is un pretty usual. Manoa and the mountains are pretty much a rainy area. But when there's been no rain, it's choice. And already as soon as you enter the trail it's just beautiful.
Kanealole Trail
Trail Length: 0.7 mi.
Terrain: Forested valley
Activity: Pedestrian
Elevation: 600 ft
Kanealole Trail begins off the lower section of the Maunalaha trail and goes up Makiki Valley. This trail ascends gradually along a stream through dense forest and connects with Makiki Valley Trail after 0.7 miles. Continuing on: Once you intersect with Makiki Valley Trail, you may take the left route which takes you to Nahuina Trail and Tantalus Drive. Or you may take the right route and proceed east. Makiki Valley Trail will ascend gradually to a 4-way intersection. To return to the parking area from here, take Maunalaha Trail which will descend along a steep ridge back down to the Forestry and Wildlife Baseyard and the parking lot.
HIKING PU'U MA'ELI'ELI TRAIL - KANEOHE - OAHU - HAWAII

We take a short day hike up to Manoa Falls; the tallest accessible waterfall on Oahu. Located through the valleys that inspired Jurassic Park movies inside the lush Koolau mountains. Fun easy little hike; easy parking for those who want to know. I love the ending edit - you like? LMK in the comments.
