The Manila American Cemetery is located in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, Metro Manila, Philippines within the boundaries of the former Fort William McKinley. 152 acres or 615,000 square metres with a total of 17, 206 graves, it has the largest number of graves of any cemetery for U.S personnel killed during World War II and holds war dead from the Philippines and other allied nations. The headstones are made of marble which aligned in eleven plots forming a generally circular pattern. The cemetery is open daily to public from 9am to 5pm except December 25 and January 1.

A new visitor center opened at the Manila American Cemetery in Taguig City to serve as a reminder of the sacrifices of thousands who fought to defend freedom during World War II. FOX31 anchor Jeremy Hubbard recently visited the Manila American Cemetery in the Philippines, where more than 17,000 American men and women who died in Asia during World War II are buried. Thousands more, whose bodies were never recovered, are honored on the Wall of the Missing.

The Memorial is maintained by the American Battle Monuments Commission.

The Nichols Field Road is the easiest access from Manila International Airport to the cemetery.

It was Melinda's birthday and she loves military history which was instilled in her by her late grandmother so we went to visit and pay our respects. The Manila American Cemetery and Memorial located in Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila. With total of more than 17000 graves, its the largest number of graves of any cemetery for U.S personnel killed during World War II. It also holds war dead from the Philippines and other nations.
Near the center of the cemetery, a chapel and two large hemicycle structures that recall achievements of the American forces in Pacific, China, India, and Burma. On rectangular Trani limestone piers within the hemicycles, are inscribed the Tablets of the Missing containing 36,285 names.
