A reservoir on the North Platte River, the dam separates the North Platte River from Lake Ogallala 100 or more feet below the dam. An interesting experience driving on top of the dam, Route 61, with water of McConaughy Lake at almost eye level and Lake Ogallala on the other side 100's of feet straight down below the roadway. “Rodeo Bullfighter”
As the bucking bull successfully launches the rider from its back during the Plum Creek Rodeo, young Rowdy Moon quickly snares the attention of the 1600-pound beast. Before the cowboy lands, the athletic bullfighter rapidly steps across the arena expertly dodging the business end of an angry horn. Rowdy hopes to go professional, but it will have to wait until the college freshman finishes school.

“Nebraska Arts Awards”
We meet some of the most talented kids in Nebraska as two Nebraska schools, one urban and one rural, receive awards for best arts initiatives. We feature excerpts of performances in the Capitol rotunda and hear from participants about their achievements. Featured in this story are performances from the young students from Hyannis Area Schools and Lincoln High School.

Deutschheim State Historic Site

Visit a significant part of German-American history – and early Missouri settlement – at Deutschheim State Historic Site. Stroll through the restored 1840s and 1850s buildings and explore how German-Americans settled the Hermann area and developed the basis for a Missouri wine industry. Grapevines planted more than 100 years ago can still be seen on the property as can a number of historic artifacts. Visitors also can tour the Strehly house, which was used for a printing business that produced the first German newspaper west of the Mississippi in 1843.

Bothwell Lodge State Historic Site

With a commanding view from atop a bluff, Bothwell Lodge State Historic Site is one of the best representations of early 20th Century sensibilities in the Midwest. Walk through the 31-room, 12,000-square-foot lodge built atop two natural caves by Sedalia lawyer John Homer Bothwell. You will marvel at the owner’s eclectic tastes and how a country gentlemen furnished a recreational lodge for himself and his friends. Most of the furnishings in the house are original. The property also has a three-mile hiking and mountain biking trail.

The Madrona Manor is a beautiful country inn at Healdsburg, California with a very nice restaurant and comfortable rooms to spend the night. But when darkness falls and the wind starts to blow, well, they do have a ghost story or two.

A Little Sandhill History

This video goes through the formation of the Nebraska Sandhills and explains the history of the people that first inhabited the area to the present.
This is the first project I have done like this so please forgive my novice mistakes.
