PARADISE FOUND: Maratua Island, Indonesia
In the summer of 2015, I travelled to Maratua Island in the Derawan Archipelago in Indonesia, and it is definitely as close to paradise as you can get. This video shows some of what we experienced, including swimming with manta rays, jellyfish lake, living in the jungle, pristine beaches all by ourselves and magical sunsets.
This video is in no way professionally made, just filmed with my Leica 109 as we went along. But I hope it will spread some good vibes.
We stayed at Maratua Guesthouse, and I highly recommend it. We will definitely be back.

Kali ini kita berlibur di negara sendiri, kita ke Kalimantan dan main di Pulau Derawan dan sekitarnya - Kakaban, Maratua, Gusung Sanggalau, dan banyak lagi. Awalnya kita gak berekspektasi tinggi tapi pas sampai di Maratua Island, kita benar2 terkejut. Airnya jernih kayak air kolam, dan banyak banget ikan2 seperti stingray, whaleshark, sea turtle (penyu), dan juga lumba-lumba! Fix wajib pergi guys. Put it on your travel bucket list!

The Derawan Islands are in the province of East Kalimantan in Indonesia. They consist of 31 islands, most well known among these are the islands of Derawan, Maratua, Sangalaki and Kakaban. There are also numerous submerged reefs and islets. They are located in the Sulawesi Sea, on the coastal shelf of East Kalimantan.
