Part 2 In Mare, New Caledonia. After looking around Mare for an hour or two we caught the bus to Yejele Beach, for a great day in the sun with perfect weather conditions. My first edit of this ran over 30 mins long.. so back to the drawing board, for a video closer to 10 (Still too long, I hear some of you say).

On our recent cruise trip, we stopped off at the Isle of Mare, New Caledonia. We mostly swam, jumped off rocks, and checked out the shops. It was awesome!

The island is part of the commune of Maré, in the Loyalty Islands Province of New Caledonia. The island is 42 km (26 miles) long and 16 to 33 km (10 to 20 miles) wide. It lies northeast of Grande Terre, New Caledonia's mainland. The population of Maré is about 6900.

The island of Mare is a commune in the Loyalty Islands Province of New Cadelonia. As part of our South Pacific Cruise, we visited this island.
My company and I had a great time, most of all interacting with the locals. As I was doing this video, I had feelings of nostalgia---I thought probably mostly because I used as background music Mantovani's My Cup Runneth Over--a song I had enjoyed and liked listening and singing.

This year in August we flew to the stunningly beautiful Maré Island, one of New Caledonia's Loyalty Islands. Here are some of the highlights. We have decided to do this video separately to the New Caledonia mainland due to length so look out for that in the near future.

Yejele Beach in Mare, New Calendonia (April 2018)
This is Yejele Beach in Mare, New Caledonia. This was one of our Fiji stops while cruising on one of the Princess Cruise lines in the south Pacific.

Life's a beach on Mare, set between towering limestone cliffs and water so blue it looks fake. You'll also see colours in the water unlike anywhere else in the world due to the amazing water clarity.
With its proud Melanesian heritage, friendly French-speaking locals and endless visibility in the crystal clear water, Mare has it all.
Now imagine a perfect natural pool with crystal-clear water, where fish and turtles play tag among coral. These natural aquariums were created when the Loyalty Islands rose up out of the ocean a millennia ago. Cool off from the tropical warmth before heading underground to see the Loyalty Islands' other striking natural feature, its caves.
