Great place to browse, slow down and breathe. Grab lunch at the Food Shark. Great Falafel. Around dark, drive a few miles outside of town to view the infamous Marfa Lights and share stories of aliens or unexplainable (no one can determine why) phenomenon. Take in some history at the beautiful Presidio County Courthouse. As artist Sam Schonzeit said ...you can breathe here.

On March 1st, 2014 I visited Marfa, TX for the first time and saw the Little Reata set from the film Giant. Visible from the road are the sign post where the sign Little Reata hung and the wind mill.
Pretty cool it's still there after all the these years. I love Giant and show it to my 7th grade Texas History class I teach every spring. The perfect film about Texas.

Last week I shared Alex and my boyfriend tag video from our recent roadtrip to Marfa and this week I'm excited to share our travel vlog from that weekend. Marfa is about 6 hours from Austin in the middle of west Texas. It is a special, special place with lots of art, culture and beautiful landscapes. We try to visit several times a year. This is actually the 2nd birthday that I've spent in this little town. It's one of our absolute favorite places and I hope you enjoy the vlog! Thanks for watching!

Adjacent to the Jack Ranch Cafe near Cholame, California resides a James Dean Memorial Sculpture. The sculpture was commissioned and transported from Japan to the United states by visionary
The tree is a specially planted tree of heaven or ailanthus.
The Jack Ranch Cafe is close to the the intersection of California Highways 41 and 46 where cult actor James Dean met his demise in a traffic accident at on September 30, 1955 at 5:59pm.
The California Department of Transportation has now designated the intersection of California Highways 41 and 46 as the James Dean Memorial Junction.
Inside the Jack Ranch Cafe you will be able to tour the exhibit of photos and artifacts of the late Hollywood actor. A couple rooms are dedicated to James Dean and there are many items you can purchase as souvenirs of this great actor who died at the age of 24 on this stretch of highway in this video. Highway 46 and 41. A couple of his big movies were : rebel without a cause and giant.
