Unusually high activity of the Marfa Mystery Lights. Shot on Saturday, 5/18/13. This was our first visit to the viewing station, and the lights did not disappoint!

Day 74 - February 26th, 2016

Today we're hanging out in Marfa, TX to see the Marfa Lights! Strange doesn't even begin to describe this place. First we visit a Prada store in the middle of the dessert, then we head to watch the sunset and catch some creeepy lights off in the distance. We have no idea where they came from!

Marfa, Texas / Cheap RV Living / Tumble In RV Park Review

Marfa Texas was cool. The Marfa Lights, Prada Marfa and Marfa Burrito were not to be missed, as these were all bucket list items for us. This is a very minimalist town so don't try to find your way around with flashy signs. And Wednesday thru Saturday are the best days to visit. Most businesses are closed Sunday-Tuesday.

Prada Marfa was about 30 min outside of Marfa in a town called Valentine, TX. There's not a lot on the way expect beautiful scenery and photo ops. Sounds like a perfect afternoon!

Not everything in Marfa is expensive. It's ok to pass on the expensive restaurants here and head straight for Marfa Burrito and Pizza Foundation. The food trucks are amazing as well. Of course if you want a fancy dinner, go for it. But, I promise, you will love these cheaper suggestions just as much.

The Marfa Lights... What can we say that hasn't already been said. They're an unexplained phenomenon worth checking out. And really, it's not explainable but very cool. Hard to capture on video since they're so far away but, we'd recommend going out of your way to see them! You can park overnight w/ your rig at the viewing area, also.

Around dark, drive a few miles outside of town to view the infamous Marfa Lights and share stories of aliens or unexplainable (no one can determine why) phenomenon. Take in some history at the beautiful Presidio County Courthouse. As artist Sam Schonzeit said ...you can breathe here.

MARFA, Texas is a cool town where, Donald Judd brought piece of desert & over time he brought lot of properties there. The Chianti foundation was a unique experience. The concrete sculptures, fluorescent lights & many more artistic stuff was so beautiful & inspiring. I definitely recommend people visiting Marfa if you’re close by. Alpine, Texas was nice too! The best part of Alpine was the calmness & the small town vibes.

Video 2 of 4 on my border trip which ended badly.
I had some time to kill in Marfa before the sun went down and I went to try and get pics of the Marfa lights. I saw this place and dropped by for some quick video. The interaction towards the end is complete and unedited. Next stop is the border town of Presidio to catch the sun going down over the border crossing..thats where things begin to unravel. I had no expectation things would be any different than what you see in this video-surely did not expect to be ambushed by the Border Patrol.

Welcome back to another State Parkers adventure. It's been a while and we missed you. We hope you are having a great start to 2017.

To wrap up our trip to New Mexico we decided to stop by the Davis Mountains and visit Davis Mountains State Park. After watching this video you will see exactly why that was one of the best decisions of the entire trip.

We were fortunate to be able to actually see the Marfa Ghost Lights. There is no explanation for what these lights are, or represent.

Shows a Glider ride over Texas. The glider takes off from the Marfa airport. The area is scenic, filled with mountains, rivers, and desert, and very scenic, beautiful, filled with wildlife.

Both take off and landing are shown.

Areas and sites that are visible are the towns of Marfa, Alpine, and Fort Davis, Jeff Jefferson Davis County, the Davis Mountains and the Davis Mountain Resort DMR, Big Bend National Park, Mexico, the Rio Grand area, Mountain Livermore, Cathedral and Mitre Mountains,

Marfa is a well-known town for several reasons.

One is the Marfa Lights, which some consider UFO phenomena and which are are near Roswell, which some think is the site of a UFO crash. The lights are mysterious and unexplained. Some think these lights are UFOs, aliens, St. Elmo's fire, electrostatic discharges, swamp gas (no swamp), ghosts, or the spirits conquistadores. No one knows for sure. Scientists have studied them.

The sign at the viewing spot says, The Marfa Lights, mysterious and unexplained lights that have been reported in the area for over one hundred years, have been the subject of many theories. The lights are said to change colors, move around, and change in intensity.

The Marfa Lights Festival is an annual event which celebrated the mysterious lights. Activities over the Labor Day Weekend include its main street parade, food and crafts booths, contests, concerts and street dances. The festival has become a reunion time for former residents and natives.

Marfa is also a historic town. It was built in Presidio County, which contains the United State's oldest city. A number of top movies have been made in the scenic area, such as No Country for Old Men and There will be blood. The classic 1956 Elizabeth Taylor, James Dean, and Rock Hudson movie Giant was filmed here also Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean.

Marfa was founded as a water stop on the Galveston, Harrisburg and San Antonio (Southern Pacific) railroad, It is on a semi-protected highland plain of the Chihuahuan Desert at an altitude of about 5,000 feet.

The area is important for astronomy. The McDonald telescope comples, including the Hobby-Eberly Telescope, HET, is one of the largest optical telescopes in the world, with the second largest mirror in the world. It now ranks as the fourth largest telescope in the world. Glimpses of these telescopes may be seen.

Marfa is als home to an annual Cowboy Rendezvous, which is usually held Memorial Day weekend. It also hoasts a Cowboy Hall of Fame.

Marfa is home to a growing arts community, is also an artists mecca. It is a national center for the arts.
It's cultural centers attract art and film exhibits of national acclaim. It is a place where such varied cultural perspectives are explored through the visual arts, music, and film

after winning un-restricted access for Public viewing of the Marfa Lines, I took a couple of weeks to clear my mind. this video details the real reason the FAA & US Govt didn't want you to see this area. it IS, I believe, a huge Airport/Spaceport for Thoth's work in North America, although they sent me a letter determining there's 'nothing to see here...'

Marfa Lights from the lights viewing area. The video is very crappy but will go back in the near future to get a better video and do a full investigation and research. Got some interesting stories about our last visit, go to our FB group pages and ask me about it. We have visited this location a total of 3 times and seen the lights twice of the 3 times, that proves that you are not always going to see them.
