Once the tallest lighthouse in the world, now one of Yokohama's famous landmarks, Yokohama Marine Tower gives tourists the opportunity to view the city from its 100-metre high observation deck. On a clear day, mount Fuji can be seen in the distance.

I cycled to Yokohama and went to Yokohama Marine Tower, Yamashita Park and other places near there.
This is a nice area for a good stroll. In fact, it's considered a good dating course for couples starting out. Go to Yamashita Park, head to the foreigners cemetery (I know), get to Chinatown for some food and if things are still going well, go to Landmark Tower for a bird's eye view of the area. I did it before and...

A trip to the top of Yokohama Marine Tower. Although it was an overcast day, it was still a very beautiful view.
To get there; From Yokohama station, take the Minatomirai Line all the way to Motomachi Chugakai station and i believe take exit #4.
Head towards the ocean past Barneys NY and you'll see the tower. Just about 2 blocks from the exit.

Best Spot Japan Climbing up Yokohama Marine Tower! 横浜マリンタワーの階段を登る！
Yokohama Marine Tower was built in 1961, as a monument of 100th anniversary opening Yokohama port.
Over 25million people has visited since the tower has been built. The tower served as the symbol of Yokohama for half century, and it will remain as the symbol now and forever.
1959年横浜港開港100周年記念行事の流れの中から、横浜港を象徴するモニュメントを建設しようという計画が起こり1961年に建設された。日本の高い塔は、ほとんどが4角型で建設されているが、設計デザインの段階で20種類以上の案が提出され、海上からでも陸上からでも、どの角度からも同じ姿に見えるというメリットから10角型のスタイルが選ばれたといわれている。
高さ106m。12,000トン。灯台を意識したデザインとなっており、実際に頭頂部には灯台としての機能も併せ持っていた。ギネスブックにも最も高い灯台として記録されていたが、実際に近隣を航行する船舶に対し灯台としての重要度はあまり高くなかった。改装工事の必要もあり、灯台の機能は2008年7月28日未明をもって休止し、9月1日に廃止された
