Hello guys back here with another video! So I saw these freight trains sitting on the tracks in North Adams MA and I got out of the car and luckily one started to take off so I pulled my phone out to take a video and there was a other CSX train idle on the opposite track so glad I managed to see a Pan Am and a CSX Engine they are very cool well hope you enjoy this video! Leominster State Forest Crow Hill Hike
Took a nice short hike up Crow Hill in the Leominster State Forest, it was more of a small mountain than a hill, had a great time nonetheless.
Leominster State Forest is a 4,300-acre parcel of forested land, located in the five towns of Westminster, Princeton, Leominster, Fitchburg and Sterling in North Central Massachusetts. The forest is conveniently located off of Rte 2 (exit 28), is an easy drive for local residents, and convenient from the Boston and Worcester communities. Parking is available along Rte. 31 in several areas. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, parking fees are charged in the paved parking lots. The forest offers recreational opportunities year round, ranging from mountain biking and swimming in the summer to cross country skiing and snowmobiling in the winter. Nature lovers will enjoy the numerous hiking trails, the prolific mountain laurel bloom in late June, early July and the opportunity to observe all kinds of wildlife.
The trails at Leominster State Forest are extensive and offer a wide variety of terrains. For hikers, The Midstate Trail, a 95-mile long-distance trail that runs from Rhode Island to the New Hampshire border, passes through the western edge of the park. A popular day hike along the Midstate Trail begins at Redemption Rock on Rte 140 in Princeton, and heads north over a scenic ridgeline which includes Crow Hill Ledges. Heading south from Redemption Rock it is a pretty hike over to the summit of Mount Wachusett State Reservation, another DCR managed property. Wachusett Greenways, a local land preservation group, offers a variety of guided hikes and trail maintenance days in Princeton, Sterling and surrounding towns throughout the year.
The terrain available to mountain bikers ranges from rolling unpaved fire roads to more technical, single track, multi-use trails. Hiking trails are off limits to bikers. New England Mountain Bike Association has been an ardent supporter of the trail system here. The Wachusett Chapter of NEMBA generally runs four trail maintenance days, two in the spring and two in the fall. All are welcome to join in the fun and help to improve the trails at the park. Another popular and unique recreational use of LSF is rock-climbing at Crow Hill Ledges. Permits are required (no fee) and are available at the park HQ's or at the contact station between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
The swimming beach at Crow Hill Pond is located next to two beautiful picnic areas that also provide picnic tables, grills and a modern bathhouse. DCR lifeguards are on duty from mid-June until Labor Day. All other ponds in the park are off limits to swimming. Kayakers, canoeists and fishing enthusiasts enjoy using Paradise Pond for their recreational pursuits. The numerous islands, inlets and coves provide great warm water fishing and countless exploring opportunities. Paradise Pond is easily accessible off Rte. 31, where several put-ins are available. Crow Hill Pond (swimming beach side) is stocked with trout several times a year by Mass Fisheries and Wildlife. Hunting is also allowed in the park; all regulations apply. Winter recreation includes cross country skiing, snow shoeing and snowmobiling. Snow mobiling is limited to the unpaved roads and the multi use trails. All other motorized uses are prohibited.

- North Attleboro, Massachusetts is an industrial town in Bristol county on the Rhode Island border. In pre-colonial times, it was the site of the Bay Path, a major Indian trail to Narragansett Bay, the Seekonk River and Boston. John Woocock and family established a small settlement in North Attleboro in 1669, which subsisted on agriculture, fishing and hunting, but also clearly liked a little conviviality because by 1670, Woocock had received a license to open an ordinary, or tavern.
The settlement was attacked during King Philip's War, with two killed and one home burned, but the garrison house which Woocock had built survived the attack. Recovery was swift after the war and the community grew very quickly. In about 1780, a French settler set up a forge for working brass and the industrial era arrived in North Attleboro. Englishmen brought with them British machinery from Birmingham in 1794 and designed American improvements in button-making which they patented.
During the 18th and early 19th centuries, small grist and sawmills were built along the Ten mile River, and subsequently established nail factories were eventually eclipsed by cotton spinning mills. The development of cotton spinning was spurred by the embargo on imports resulting from the War of 1812. Textiles and jewelry manufacturing were the staple industries of the town by 1832 but buttons were king.
By 1834, it was said that North Attleboro produced more buttons than anywhere else in the United States. Through the 19th century, there was tremendous growth and innovation in the jewelry industry and the number of firms in the town increased sharply. The Civil War spurred their growth with profitable U. S. Army orders for badges and medals. North Attleboro also retains an outstanding collection of mid to late 19th century houses including several Italianate villas.
Located just 32 miles southwest of Boston and 12 miles north of Providence RI. Located at the crossroads of Route 95, 295, and 495 and is easily accessed by Amtrack and MBTA Commuter Rail lines making North Attleboro easy for commuters. In addition, it is located near airports in Boston, Providence and Worcester as well as the busy seaports of Boston Harbor and Narragansett Bay.
North Attleboro has preserved many historic homes that date back to the early 1900s. Numerous shopping options are available, particularly along Route 1 and the 3 story Emerald Square Mall. Nearby is the Wrentham Village Outlet Mall, and Providence Place in Providence, RI, providing shoppers with a variety of retail choices. Noted for its fine public schools, North Attleboro offers a wide array of youth programs with a concentration on sports.

STERLING - Crews from V.O. Menuez & Son begin building a bridge as part of the Rails to Trails of Wayne County project that will see seven miles of trail paved from Rittman to Creston through Sterling. G.E. Baker Construction of Shreve is the main contractor, and work is scheduled to be completed by Nov. 15, 2010.

The department of Landscape and Natural Resources at the University of Central Florida manages 800 acres of natural lands, conservation easements, and manicured landscape areas on campus. The UCF Arboretum is part of the department of the LNR academic program which supports research and educational activities surrounding urban ecology by engaging the UCF community with the natural environment through volunteering and service learning opportunities.
The UCF Arboretum offers volunteering opportunities in Urban Forestry, Landscaping, Natural Area Management, and the Community Garden as well as workshops and guided tours.

Creepy Places of New England: Redemption Rock

Mary Rowlandson was a colonial-era woman who was taken hostage by a Native American Tribe during King Philip's War (1675-1678). After her town town of Lancaster, Massachusetts was attacked on February 10, 1675, Mary and her children spent 11 weeks in the wilderness as captives. She was set free at Redemption Rock in Princeton, Massachusetts with the help of John Hoar of Concord. She then wrote the captivity narrative entitled A Narrative of the Captivity and Restoration of Mrs. Mary Rowlandson, which is one of the earliest examples of early American literature.

The Berkshire Wind Power Project is the largest wind generating facility in Massachusetts.
