The Maui Police Department provides law enforcement services for a population of over 166,403 residents and about 3 million visitors per year on the islands of Maui, Lanai and Molokai.
MPD is the first agency, within the State of Hawaii, to participate in the Pink Patch Project. We joined the Pink Patch Project in 2019. Our officers will be able to wear the MPD Pink Patch throughout the month of October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
We have dedicated this year's fundraising to the Pacific Cancer Foundation.

Here is my first gopro video of our beginner group surf lesson. You will see a family from Texas a dad and two sons. Kevin is our surf instructor. We check in on the ipad then we get everyone suited up with the water shoes and rashguards. We then take a short walk through the Historic town of Lahaina to our surf truck and grab our surfboards. We spend 10-15 minutes on the sand going over surfing techniques and safety. The boys did not get up at first but found their balance eventually. We later found out that dad had surgery on his back and tweaked it on the way out. I recommend communicating with your surf instructor of any injuries. It was fun meeting this family and surfing with them.
