West Valley City is a city in Salt Lake County and a suburb of Salt Lake City in the U.S. state of Utah. The population was 129,480 at the 2010 census, making it the second-largest city in Utah. Diamond (9-1) will make his highly-anticipated LFA debut fresh off an impressive run on the UFC’s hit reality show The Ultimate Fighter 27 (TUF 27). The 28-year-old Team Alpha Male product used a Guillotine Choke to submit LFA standout Dulani Perry in the quarter-finals of the tournament, which featured an entire cast of undefeated fighters. Diamond would bow out of the tournament in the semi-finals, but returned for the UFC – TUF 27 Finale. Diamond fought former RFA/Legacy fighter Bryce Mitchell in a three-round war, but came up short when the judges awarded Mitchell a narrow Majority Decision. Maverik Center and four of Utah’s premier NCAA Women’s Gymnastics programs – The University of Utah, Brigham Young University, Southern Utah University, and Utah State University – have announced a multi-year partnership that will bring the four schools together to compete at the Rio Tinto Best of Utah NCAA Gymnastics Meet for the next five seasons.
The inaugural Rio Tinto Best of Utah event will be held on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020 and is slated to begin at 7:00 PM MST. The partnership marks the first time that the schools will compete against one another in the same venue on a raised, podium floor.

Battle of the Best
Over the last six seasons, either UCLA or Utah has captured the Pac-12 title, with the Bruins claiming the Conference crown in each of the last two seasons. Following last year’s Pac-12 Championships, all eight programs from the Conference were selected to advance to the 2019 National Collegiate Women’s Gymnastics Championships for regionals and three teams (Oregon State, UCLA and Utah) advanced to the NCAA Championships in Fort Worth, Texas.

Last season, the Pac-12 held its championships for women’s gymnastics at a neutral-site for the first time ever. Following a successful first season at Maverik Center, the venue is set to again feature some of the best of women’s gymnastics next March. Located in the heart of the Salt Lake Valley in West Valley City, Utah, Maverik Center can seat over 9,000 for women’s gymnastics as Pac-12 women’s gymnastics looks to again take over the Salt Lake Community.
