GoPro | Hike to the McCauley Warm Springs - Jemez Springs, New Mexico
This was a fun hike. The springs are more warm than hot, but its still really cool. There are little guppies in the water that try to eat the dead skin off your feet. Really interesting sensation. Great views.

McCauley Warm Springs
After hiking from the base of Battleship Rock to McCauley Warm Springs, we enjoyed a soak in one of the smaller pools. The water was about 90 degrees and very refreshing after the climb.

McCauley Hot Springs NM june 2015
Hot springs–consisting of three pools at different
temperatures.
The top springs, consist of a pool of hot water, this
pool feeds into both lower pools. Top pool has vegetation on lower end of it and is the smallest pool. The second pool, is
warm, has more vegetation and contains Rio Grande Silvery Minnows (endangered species). However, the minnows
don’t seem to be bothered by visitors enjoying the
springs! Just keep in mind and respect that they are
endangered and protected. The third pool is quite a bit
cooler, and as it goes down the mountain, it feeds into
the creek below which later feeds into the Rio Grande
River.
You can get to the spring via Jemez Campground TH or Battleship Rock TH either is 1.5 miles to the springs and McCauley is in the middle..
TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES, NM | Relaxing in Hot Springs
We slipped into the hot springs at Riverbend Hot Springs and a feeling of zen slipped over us. The serene music playing, the mountains in the distance, and the feeling of the naturally hot water on a cold winter day combined together for a feeling a pure bliss. Our time in New Mexico was short, but this was one of our favorite stops in the entire trip!
Truth or Consequences is best known for two things. The first is the naturally occurring hot springs, the other is the name. Originally known simply as Hot Springs, the name changed in 1950 to honor the famous NBC radio show of the same name.
There is more to Truth or Consequences than just the hot springs. While small, it's one of New Mexico's most charming towns. The downtown area has restaurants, shops, and a fantastic brewery. Everyone we met and talked to was very friendly and welcoming, which only made our visit even more enjoyable.
Truth or Consequences is the most popular in the colder months, as the demand for hot springs goes down as the weather gets warmer. Located about halfway between Albuquerque, NM and El Paso, TX, it's a popular getaway for those looking to get out of the city and into a more rural part of the state.

NM True TV - The Springs - Jemez
There’s a pretty good hint in the name Jemez Springs that the area is replete with hot water boiling up from beneath the earth. Turns out this gorgeous mountain range sits atop what was once a supervolcano. Michael and the True TV crew draw the tough assignment to test the wide variety of hot springs available and, in a very relaxed state, share their soothing adventures with us.

We are Anja and Bob and we have been together for 28 years, we both have been born with the Wanderlust Gene and can't get enough of wandering and exploring this beautiful world. We have lived in California, New Mexico, Colorado and Hawaii, but have wandered many states and countries. We are Full-Time RV-ers and travel and work camp in a 2010, Winnebago View 24A Diesel Sprinter. We like to bring our 2012 Jeep Wrangler unlimited with us to explore where the RV can't go. We are not retired yet so we have to work on the road, we work camp at National parks, Forest Service and State parks and design some t-shirts and stickers and make some jewelry that are inspired by our travels. We will be selling those on our new website soon. We enjoy boon docking in nature or dry camping off grid along the ocean, in deserts and in the mountains. Our other passion is searching for treasures, one of those is a real Treasure Chest hidden by a fascinating gentleman named Forrest Fenn. We have been searching since 2013 and have filmed a few of our searches for you, so you can come along for the Thrill Of The Chase. Hot Springs - Jemez Springs, NM - Plant B
The water is not super hot, and this seemed normal according to the locals we ran into. Still very fun, very soothing. The view is absolutely to die for. We could not believe how green the greens are, especially when so much of the surrounding area is in a noticeably serious drought. Let's hear it for New Mexico!
