Meghri , is a town and the centre of the urban community in of Meghri, in Syunik Province at the south of Armenia, near the border with Iran. As of the 2011 census, the population of the town was 4,580. According to the 2016 official estimate, Meghri's population is around 3,500. Meghri is located 376 km south of the capital Yerevan and 73 km south of the provincial capital Kapan. A nearby Russian military base houses around 2,000 soldiers, who along with Armenian soldiers guard the border with Iran. As a result of the community mergers in 2016, the municipality of Meghri was enlarged to include the surrounding villages of Agarak, Alvank, Aygedzor, Gudemnis, Karchevan, Kuris, Lehvaz, Lichk, Nrnadzor, Shvanidzor, Tashtun, Tkhkut, Vahravar, and Vardanidzor.

The name of Meghri Fortress was first mentioned in 1083. It was rebuilt in 18th century. The fortress is unique in Armenian architecture. It doesn't have fance walls and the slant ridges of the mountain replace them.

Waterfalls of Lichk are located in Zvaraget and Meghri rivers which flow through the territory of Lichk village of Syunik region. There is no exact number of waterfalls on Meghri river. The cascade of waterfalls begins 2 kilometers from the village and continus through the whole gorge and ends in the end of the forest.

Մեղրու բերդը առաջին անգամ հիշատակվում է 1083թ.: Այն հիմնովին վերակառուցվել է 18-րդ դարում: Բերդն իր ճարտարապետական մտահղացմամբ եզակի է հայկական ամրոցաշինության մեջ: Բերդը պարսպապատեր չունի: Դրանց փոխարինել են լեռնաշղթայի թեք կողերը:

Լիճքի ջրվեժները գտնվում են Սյունիքի մարզի Լիճք գյուղի տարածքով հոսող երկու` Զվարագետի եւ Մեղրի գետերի վրա: Գյուղի միջով հոսող Մեղրի գետի վրա գտնվող ջրվեժների ստույգ քանակը դժվար է ասել: Մի քանի տասնյակի հասնող ջրվեժները սկսվում են գյուղից 2 կմ դեպի հյուսիս գտնվող ջրվեժների կասկադով եւ ձգվելով ողջ կիրճով ավարտվում անտառի վերջում:
