Apple Butter Frolic 2017
This first weekend of each October the Heritage Center celebrates the Apple Butter Frolic--Food, Fun, and Farming. The day starts with the apple sausage breakfast. There are many activities for kids, historic farming, food, and craft demonstrations, and of course, plenty of traditional Pennsylvania Dutch goodies like chicken pot pie, apple dumplings, scrapple, and home made ice cream! In 2017 a hearth cooking demonstration was added. The event takes place on the campus of the Heritage Center at 565 Yoder Road, Harleysville.
Fraktur | WHYY's Arts and Culture Desk
Fraktur is an art form of the Pennsylvania German community. It's a style that is older than the United States itself and continues to this day.
The Mennonite Heritage Center in Harleysville, PA is currently showing an exhibit of contemporary Fraktur art.
