The Menominee Tribe of Wisconsin seeks to partner with Hard Rock International to build a $800 million casino and destination resort ( in Southeastern Wisconsin. The Menominee, one of the poorest tribes in the United States, plan to use revenue from the casino to invest in the tribe by creating jobs, improving education, healthcare and housing, and preserving Menominee culture and language.

Menominee Voices - What the Kenosha Casino Will Mean to SE Wisconsin
When the Menominee Indians win approval to open the Hard Rock Kenosha Casino & Hotel ( southeastern Wisconsin will get a big economic lift. Kenosha has sought to diversify its economy by creating new jobs ever since a massive auto plant closed 20 years ago. The casino project will result in construction of an $800 million facility employing 1400 construction workers, 3300 full-time employees and 1800 part-time and support positions. Hard Rock Kenosha will also create 200 new tribal jobs at the Menominee Reservation in NE Wisconsin. Tribal leadership has made a commitment that income from the casino & hotel will be used to address a number of self-determination issues that the Menominee face, such as improving education, enhancing healthcare, building housing for the poor, elderly & veterans, and preserving the tribal culture and language.
