Shenzhen Shekou Info:
Shekou (Chinese: 蛇口) is an area at the southern tip of Nanshan, Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China. It faces Yuen Long, Hong Kong across the Shenzhen Bay. It has been designated a Free Trade Zone by the government, alongside Qianhai, Hengqin and Nansha.
The area was formerly a customs station of Bao'an County. On 31 January 1979, it became officially known as the Shekou Industrial Zone, developed solely by China Merchants of Hong Kong under Yuan Geng's leadership, earlier than the formation of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone. The event is chronicalled in the Chinese ballad The Story of Spring (春天的故事).
Since the 1980s, after foreign oil majors such as Agip, Chevron, Texaco, Statoil and Shell obtained concessions for oil exploration in the South China Sea, Shekou started serving as a base for a small contingent of foreign oil platform workers, since qualified personnel were not available locally. As a result of this first mover advantage in catering for mainly western tastes in housing, food and drink, entertainment and schooling, at a time when no alternatives were available in the area, Shekou gradually became home to the majority of the expatriate population working in and around Shenzhen and part of its hinterland in the Pearl River Delta. This trend has however abated after 2003, after the country's continued economic reforms. Development of other parts of the city and substantial increase in English levels of university graduates have made life in the city proper more acceptable to many foreigners without school-age children.
In 2003, the local government, seeking to capitalize on the foreign flavor of the area, invested in a complete make-over of Sea World, turning it into a western-style entertainment area centered on the grounded Minghua (明华) ship, a 14,000 ton, 168 m long vessel built in 1962 as a French ferry vessel purchased by China in 1973. It is commonly, though incorrectly, referred to by many locals as French President Charles De Gaulle's private yacht. Minghua is now completely landlocked due to extensive local land reclamation and redevelopment efforts.
Shekou is undergoing a major redevelopment project, costing an excess of 60 billion RMB. This included the construction of dozens of office and residential towers (such as the China Merchants Tower), a new cruise center replacing the old ferry terminal, a number of shopping malls around Sea World and the refurbishment of numerous older buildings.
The area attracts many tourists and has a sizable community of resident foreigners, and many non-Chinese restaurants exist in the area. According to the Shenzhen Management and Service Center for Expats, 6,275 of the 43,919 registered expats living in Shenzhen are registered with the Shekou Police Station and Shenzhenwan Police Station alone

Shenzhen ([ʂə́n.ʈʂə̂n] (About this sound listen)) is a major city in Guangdong Province, China. It forms part of the Pearl River Delta megalopolis. The city is located immediately north of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and holds sub-provincial administrative status, with powers slightly less than a province.[6]
Shenzhen was once a market town of 30,000[7][better source needed] people on the route of the Kowloon–Canton Railway. That changed in 1979 when Shenzhen was promoted to city-status and in 1980 designated China’s first Special Economic Zone (SEZ).[7] The 2010 Census recorded a total population of 10,357,938, a figure which includes migrants staying at least six months.[8] Shenzhen was one of the fastest-growing cities in the world during the 1990s and the 2000s.[9] A nationwide 2015 intercensal survey (mini-census conducted five years after the official census in every decade) surveyed for every city in the country recorded 11.389 million residents (9.186 million holding city residency (hukou), the remainder are considered migratory who were present at least six months of the year), while the household size increased to 2.49 people from 2.11 in 2010.[10]
Shenzhen's modern cityscape is the result of its vibrant economy made possible by rapid foreign investment since the institution of the policy of reform and opening in late 1979 when the SEZ was established.[11]
Shenzhen is a major financial center in southern China. The city is home to the Shenzhen Stock Exchange as well as the headquarters of numerous home grown multinational well-known companies such as Vanke, JXD, Hytera, CIMC, Shenzhen Airlines, Nepstar, Hasee, Ping An Bank, Ping An Insurance, China Merchants Bank, Tencent, ZTE, Huawei and BYD.[12] Shenzhen ranks 22nd in the 2017 edition of the Global Financial Centres Index published by the Z/Yen Group and Qatar Financial Centre Authority.[13] It also has one of the busiest container ports in the world.[14]

Beijing 4K - Walk along the Xidan S St - China 中国北京西单南大街/长安街行走视频
Xidan is a major traditional commercial area in Beijing, China. It is located in the Xicheng District.
The Xidan commercial district incorporates the Xidan Culture Square, North Xidan Street, as well as many supermarkets and department stores. The Xidan Cultural Square is the largest venue for cultural events in downtown Beijing.
Xidan began to develop in the Ming Dynasty as an area alongside the passage for traders from Southwestern China to enter Beijing.
Restaurants and shops were eventually built for these merchants. Eventually, as the Western part of the city became the residential area for officials, Xidan became a commercial area. The location of several government agencies when Beijing was under the administration of the Republic of China also helped Xidan's economic growth.
The area began to experience massive growth in the 1950s, as the population of Beijing began to move westwards. By the 1970s, Xidan, along with Qianmen and Wangfujing, became the three major commercial areas in Beijing.
Currently, the area is known throughout Beijing as a shopping area. Many malls and department stores have stores within the area, the oldest of which is the China branch of the Taiwanese department store Chungyo.
Xidan is also home to Lingjing Alley, which, at 32m (34 yards), is considered to be the broadest hutong in Beijing.

Stopover at Burj Dubai, Reflections on Oil
The UAE is attempting to diversify its economy, but oil exports remains an important part of its economy. What portion of crude oil which was refined into kerosene helped to fund the Burj Dubai? There are still over one billion people who have no access to electricity and use kerosene-based sources derived from oil - to many the middle east represents the center of the oil extraction industry, and the Burj Dubai may be easily brought to mind as a symbol of middle east prosperance.

Shenzhen
Shenzhen (Chinese: 深圳) is a major city in the south of Southern China's Guangdong Province, situated immediately north of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The area became China's first—and one of the most successful—Special Economic Zones (SEZs). It currently also holds sub-provincial administrative status, with powers slightly less than a province. According to the 2010 National Census, Shenzhen is the tenth most populous city in mainland China with a population of 10.35 million.
Shenzhen's modern cityscape is the result of the vibrant economy made possible by rapid foreign investment since the institution of the policy of reform and opening establishment of the SEZ in late 1979, before which it was only a small village. Both Chinese citizens and foreign nationals have invested enormous amounts of money in the Shenzhen SEZ. More than US$30 billion in foreign investment has gone into both foreign-owned and joint ventures, at first mainly in manufacturing but more recently in the service industries as well. Shenzhen is now considered one of the fastest-growing cities in the world.

Shenzhen ([ʂə́n.ʈʂə̂n] (listen)) is a major city in Guangdong Province, China; it forms part of the Pearl River Delta megalopolis north of Hong Kong. It holds sub-provincial administrative status, with powers slightly less than a province.
Shenzhen, which roughly follows the administrative boundaries of Bao'an County, officially became a city in 1979, taking its name from the former county town, whose train station was the last stop on the Mainland Chinese section of the railway between Canton and Kowloon. In 1980, Shenzhen was established as China's first special economic zone. Shenzhen's registered population as of 2017 was estimated at 12,905,000. However, the Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee estimates that the population of Shenzhen is about 20 million, due to the large unregistered floating migrant population living in the city. Shenzhen was one of the fastest-growing cities in the world in the 1990s and the 2000s. And has been ranked second on the list of ‘top 10 cities to visit in 2019Shenzhen's cityscape results from its vibrant economy - made possible by rapid foreign investment following the institution of the policy of reform and opening-up in 1979. The city is a leading global technology hub, dubbed by media as the next Silicon Valley.Shenzhen hosts the Shenzhen Stock Exchange as well as the headquarters of numerous multinational companies such as JXD, Vanke, Hytera, CIMC, Shenzhen Airlines, Nepstar, Hasee, Ping An Bank, Ping An Insurance, China Merchants Bank, Tencent, ZTE, Huawei and BYD. Bullet shaped skyscraper crowned by stunning cathedral like space

Prolific American firm Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF) is responsible for many of the world's tallest skyscrapers and always produces interesting eye-catching designs. The firm's latest project is another standout and the bullet-shaped office building is topped by a stunning light-filled hall.
The China Resources Headquarters is located in Shenzhen, China, and rises to a height of 400 m (1,312 ft). It's part of a larger development by KPF that includes residential, retail space, office space, and a significant public realm.
The overall form of the building, which brings to mind London's Gherkin, is inspired by the winter bamboo shoot. It's also quite interesting structurally.
China Resources Headquarters features a light yet stable tube and diagrid structural system that is expressed in its tapered, sculptural form, says KPF. Rendered in pre-fabricated column and steel units, the system affords column-free interiors, in turn allowing greater expression of the tower's radial symmetry and more boutique floorplates as it rises. The 56 vertical columns converge into 28 columns at the lower and upper sections of the tower, forming a series of entry portals at the tower's base and merging to a singular point at its peak.
The top of the tower is taken up by the sky hall, a conical hall likened to a cathedral by KPF that offers visitors choice views of the city below and the spire above. The firm also says that China Resources Headquarters is one the few skyscrapers in the world in which people can actually visit its highest point. It certainly looks impressive.
The China Resources Headquarters is the third-tallest skyscraper in Shenzhen. There has been an incredible number of skyscrapers both planned and constructed in the city in recent years, including Foster + Partners' Merchants Bank HQ, BIG's Shenzhen Energy Mansion and KPF's own Ping An Finance Centre, the tallest building in the city.

Xi an Tours Video
Xi an Tours Video. Long before the country -- and other countries -- kowtowed to Beijing, there was Chángan: a thriving city of emperors, courtesans, poets, monks, merchants and soldiers; a place where many of the worlds great religions coexisted and Chinese culture reached an apogee of creativity and sophistication. Chángan -- present-day Xian -- was the fabled beginning and end of the Silk Road, a swirl of colours, lute music and desert dust, where camel caravans unloaded goods from across the Eurasian continent and packed up aspects of China that went on to influence the world. But, like all great metropolises, it had to come to an end. Destroyed in rebellions that marked the decline of the Tang dynasty, by the 10th century Chángan was no more.
