Michigan Central Station | Abandoned Rail Depot | Detroit | Michigan | USA | HD
Michigan Central Station aka Michigan Central Depot is a historic former main intercity passenger rail depot in Detroit, Michigan. Built for the Michigan Central Railroad, it replaced the original depot in downtown Detroit, which was shuttered after a major fire on December 26, 1913, forcing the still unfinished station into early service. Formally dedicated on January 4, 1914, the station remained open for business until the cessation of Amtrak service on January 6, 1988. Comprising a train depot and 13-story and 2 mezzanine level office tower with a roof height of 230 feet (70 m), it was the tallest rail station in the world at the time of its construction.

WELCOME TO DETROIT, MICHIGAN, USA
Driving in Detroit on a cloudy Saturday morning (around 9am) and sadly witnessing how in bad shape a big city under decades of left-wing liberal Democratic Party leadership (all mayors have been members of Democratic Party) looks like.
Michigan voting history:
Detroit and Michigan residents (US citizens with right to vote), are you better off now than eight years ago, ARE YOU?
IF the answer is categorically and definitely NO, VOTE TRUMP FOR POTUS, what do you have to lose??? NOTHING.
Enjoy Detroit and always be safe.
God Bless.
The City Of Detroit
A compilation of photos I have taken in the city of Detroit michigan, during the summer of 2006 and 2007. This video is kind of sad. You will see how Detroit has become neglected and forgotten. Many landmarks including the train station, Fort Wayne, Eastern Market...ect. Will the city ever recover?

The Michigan Central Railroad was originally incorporated in 1846 to establish rail service between Detroit, Michigan and St.Joseph, Michigan. The railroad later operated in the states of Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois in the United States, and the province of Ontario in Canada. After about 1867 the railroad was controlled by the New York Central Railroad, which later became part of Penn Central and then Conrail.

The People Mover: Detroit's Subway System
Filmed on a quiet Sunday, so there were no lines and not many people:) (downtown Detroit gets extremely busy and is very highly peopled) The Detroit People Mover is an elevated L train system that operates above the streets of downtown Detroit. The new QLine Streetcar runs along Woodward Avenue and connects the People Mover to the Amtrak Station and SMART suburban and DDOT city buses.
At Detroit Metro Airport, the ExpressTram connects the North, South, and Central stations of the McNamara Terminal. In addition to taxis, Uber, an extensive bus network, and multiple Amtrak services, the QLine and People Mover provide great public transit to Detroit's citizens and visitors.
The MiTrain Commuter Rail is scheduled to open in 2022 and will connect Detroit Metro Airport with Dearborn, Ann Arbor, and other cities to downtown Detroit. This development is part of a larger revival of the City of Detroit. Detroit is under a wave of huge economic progress, and a new skyscraper broke ground on Friday and will be completed in 2021.
Drone Flies Over Abandoned Train Station in Detroit, Michigan USA
Having long since had a train roll through its chambers, the abandoned train station of Detroit, Michigan provides quite the spectacle for this drone pilot to explore. Once an extremely busy station, this train station is now an obsolete source of travel.

Driving in Detroit, mostly Downtown Area.
Last 3 min of the video: some nice close-ups of the GM Building, Entrance into the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel (Canada-bound) AND a US Border Patrol Parking Lot, IMHO a total waste of money to keep so many vehicles in this very area instead of using them exactly where they are REALLY needed, The MEXICAN Border, in 20+ years I've never heard of any lunatic trying to get into Detroit, USA illegally, swimming of course.
Hopefully this video is gonna put a little smile on the brave and hardworking ppl of Detroit in these very hard times for them:
Bad, VERY bad politics of a particular political spectrum, the major cause for how Detroit looks like and experiencing nowadays.

ART-attack centre - Michigan Central station trial video
SUMMARY
Detroit is the largest city in the state of Michigan and was one of the most powerful industrial centres in the country. Hosting Ford, Chrysler and General Motors headquarters, the city had a huge metropolitan area which attracted workers who stablished there on the rise of industrialization. In the sixties European and Japanese automobile industries started to arrive to the United States. The quality of the Japanese product caused Detroit’s gradual loss in competitiveness and it is during these years that the city begins to desolate. Detroit currently has a total area of 359 km2, 800,000 empty structures and 33,500 abandoned homes. Most of them are in ruins and have come to auction for $1. The most emblematic abandonment is the central railway station, the Michigan Central Station.
PROPOSAL
Nonetheless, Detroit’s 21st century new industry is art. Artists from all over the world are coming to the city because of the low prices and affordable housing. A new youth generation sees Detroit as a free city where you can easily create. We propose to rehabilitate the abandoned Detroit’s central station to transform it into a hybrid building full of life, a centre for the Arts. Including spacious workshops, showrooms, selling points and meeting rooms. It will also be combined with artist’s residences and a small hotel for tourists that love art. A central station intended for people and culture interchange, with the purpose to regenerate the station’s area.
