Japan Vlog #1: Exploring Nagasaki, Nagasaki Minato Festival
Disclaimer***I do not own the theme song.
Hey you guys! Long time no upload, huh? Sorry about that. I finally bought a computer and a camera too! Although not really high quality, but now I can make some videos! As of now I am working in Japan as an English teacher in Nagasaki. I hope to share my experiences in Japan with ya'll again. Please enjoy!
Nagasaki Chinatown Visit from Cruise Port (4K)
Chinatown of Nagasaki, Japan, is only about 15 minutes from the cruise port. We had first walked from port to visit Glover Garden after our cruise ship docked at the Nagasaki Cruise Port (see our video here: ), then headed to Chinatown. On the way there we got a close look at the Nagasaki Tram, a public transportation service.
We got to Minato Park first, which is a nice public square with Chinese-style gates. Right across the street was Chinatown. There we saw various restaurants selling Chinese food and delicacies. We wanted to try some noodle soup, but unfortunately our cruise ship (the Princess Cruises Majestic Princess 盛世公主号) was leaving soon and we had to settle for some quick bites to eat. We tried out some local Nagasaki street food, including Steam Buns with meat (pork belly & another with hamburger beef).
Also known as Kakuni Manju, these sandwiches were delicious, especially on a chilly spring day. The complimentary Brown Rice Tea was a treat as well.
This was certainly the CLEANEST Chinatown we have seen in our travels thus far! If you do visit Nagasaki, the Chinatown area is certainly a place to consider checking out.
This was part of our March 2018 14 Day Asia cruise aboard the Majestic Princess cruise ship.

World’s largest Naruto and Boruto Theme Park in Japan
Japan Naruto Theme Park and Boruto Theme Park located in Nijigen no Mori Awajishima. This is first look at currently the World's largest Naruto amusement park and Boruto amusement park located in Shinobi Zato also known as ninja village area of the National Park of Awajishima. The ninja village hosts 2 main mission areas guided by maki-mono (scrolls) chi-no-maki (earth scroll) and ten-no-maki (heaven scroll). This anime theme park will take you on a puzzle solving adventures. This is perfect play ground for all Naruto manga and anime lovers alike.
Also, this anime theme park has recreated an outdoor version of Naruto's favorite ramen shop, Ichiraku ramen shop where you can get Hakata style ramen. Ramen ichiraku's Naruto Ramen was quite delicious and would love to have another bowl at anytime. The shop also serves Naruto themed food.
Nijigen no mori where the Naruto theme park is located, is originally a giant national park so it’s actually a perfect spot to just hang out, relax and have a picnic.
In fact, Naruto theme park video is the first part of a 2 part series for the Awajishima area so if you are deciding to visit this area, then definitely stick around for the 2nd part of this video series.

Minato Preschool
Soma, Fukushima, Japan
Minato Preschool, with its panoramic views of Matsukawaura Prefectural Park, cares for 203 infants and children up to 5 years old. After the Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11, 2011, as the tsunami waves lapped the preschool gates, the children evacuated to the roof witnessed terrifying scenes of houses and big ships being washed away. In the ensuing months, the risk of radiation exposure prevented them from their favorite activity, playing outdoors. But thanks to warm support from faraway New York and throughout Japan, today the school reverberates with the voices of children, happily at play.
2018年長崎精霊流し|Nagasaki Spirit Boat Procession
Nagasaki residents reverently worship their ancestors with more clamor and explosions than anywhere else in Japan. Shoro Nagashi is loud, solemn, hectic, and sorrowful, but it is also a crazily joyous time. During Shoro Nagashi, daily routines in Nagasaki are set aside. Many streets are closed for traffic, and the clamor of gongs, drums, and explosions roll in sound waves for miles up and down Nagasaki's famous steep slopes.
