(ABC 6 News) -- A month-long program, celebrating the arts, wrapped Sunday afternoon at the Minnesota Children's Museum of Rochester.
Part of the program involved sharing the joy of reading.

The new Rochester facility is located at 3500 Commercial Drive SW, Rochester, MN 55902. The facility opened its doors on Monday June 26, 2017 and includes 31,000 square feet of warehouse space; 6,000 square feet of office space; 2,500 square feet of retail showroom space; three receiving bays; four shipping bays and a customer courtesy dock.

Rochester is a city in the U.S. State of Minnesota and is the county seat of Olmsted County. Located on the Zumbro River's south fork, the city has a population of 106,769 according to the 2010 United States Census. The U.S. Census Bureau estimated 2013 population is 110,742. It is Minnesota's third-largest city and the largest city located outside of the Minneapolis-St. Paul-Bloomington Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of 2013, the Rochester metropolitan area has a population of 211,853.

Riverside Community Mural Unveiling 05/21/19
On May 21, 2019 Riverside Central Elementary School celebrated the unveiling of their Community Mural located on the front of their building.

Riverside Central Elementary School’s students, staff, families, and community partners have been on a two-year journey to create a mural that is representative of our students, our school, and our community. This process included two, week-long artist-in-residence experience for all students during their art class. Students then designed their unique mini-mural. All 500 of these student pieces were displayed at the Minnesota Children's Museum Rochester where over 8,000 people viewed them. Using these works of art, GoodSpace Murals integrated student design elements and images into a mural draft. Our students, families, and community provided feedback, and the final design was created. Lastly, our students were able to actually “paint by number” on the mural during the second residency. We concluded our fall with a Community Paint Party at the Rochester Farmers Markets where roughly 500 people participated in painting.
On May 21st, we unveiled this mural with a celebration captured in this YouTube video.
