The Mansion was originally the State of Connecticut building at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair. Connecticut chose architect Edward T. Hapgood to design the building. The state wanted their pavilion to represent a country gentleman's home, and the architect patterned the building after the 1820 Sigourney Mansion in Hartford. Many components were taken from the 1760 Hubbard-Slater Mansion in Norwich including the front entryway, various interior columns, and door capitals. The mansion has three above ground floors and a full basement totaling 15,000 square feet. It also includes seven fireplaces and 4 1/2 baths.
The mansion was designed and built to be moved after the World's Fair. It was dismantled and moved to Lafayette, Indiana, immediately after the Fair by Mr. and Mrs.William Potter and became their personal residence. There are only 15 known buildings surviving from the Fair, and the Haan Mansion is most true to its original design and purpose of the 13 buildings removed from the grounds.
Tours Available
Since the Mansion is still the private residence of Bob and Ellie Haan, it is not open continually. However, tours are scheduled at certain times and can be found on the tours page. Group tours can also be arranged. Visit

The Weather is So Crazy Florida Got Snow
A Bomb Cyclone is getting ready to pound parts of America, and in some areas the perils of winter have taken a strong grip. It actually snowed in Florida on Wednesday morning. Candace Campos, a meteorologist with WKMG-TV in Orlando, told Inside Edition, “People here in Florida are just out of their minds. We haven’t seen measurable snow in Tallahassee in over 30 years.” It is currently colder in Florida than it is in Alaska.

THIS 1985 43' PEARSON MOTOR YACHT IS LOCATED IN CONNECTICUT
The Pearson 43 is the perfect boat for comfortable weekend cruising, travelling the ICW or the Great Loop, or just spending weekends on the dock. Looking for a really comfortable live aboard? You won't do much better than this Pearson 43. The accommodations are very nicely laid out. Roomy galley, larger than most homes/condos, allows for entertaining/cooking in comfort. Up above, the flying bridge is extremely large and would make a great outdoor sunset dining location. The boat was recently repainted traditional white, and with the blue canvas and privacy screen, she looks great. The flybridge has also (2012) just had a brand new canvas enclosure installed along with a new wet bar and refrigerator making for the perfect spot to enjoy the view from above.
Powered by twin 200hp Perkins diesel engines with 1250 hours on port and 1210 on starboard, she cruises around 10 knots with ease. It has a 12kw Kohler diesel generator and multiple heating and A/C zones.
Accommodations:
She has a large private Master stateroom aft with a queen sized berth and tremendous storage including a chest of drawers and a hanging closet. The master head with a tub/shower, toilet and vanity sink is between the master state room and the salon. The guest stateroom is a large queen sized V-berth with good headroom and excellent storage.
Moving aft from the guest room and below the lower helm is a 2 bed cabin with bunk beds. This is a wonderful place for storage or for additional guests. It would make a great cabin for small children. There is a guest head located forward in the boat that is very convenient to these sleeping quarters.
Galley:
The galley in this boat is as big as many Condo or townhouse kitchens. Featuring a full sized (brand new 2012) refrigerator/freezer, overhead microwave oven, 3 burner stove with oven, large sink, coffee maker and ample counter and cabinet space. The refrigerator, microwave, sink and stove run along the starboard side of the cabin while on the port side of the salon is the built-in couch, coffee table and additional chairs. The lower helm station is also located here forward of the galley.
Electrical System:
Complete shore power system with a 50 amp shore connection and cords. With her diesel generator she is capable of providing enough power for all on-board systems. A 12 and 110 volt breaker and switch panel provides power for all on board items.
Deck and Hull Equipment:
There is a large teak swim platform on the stern with a fold out ladder. A small aft deck on the stern is covered from the fiberglass deck above. A ladder leads from the aft deck to the Flying Bridge deck. The flying bridge has a large bimini top providing protection from the sun, and along with the new full enclosure back to the radar arch, you can sit on the flybridge in complete comfort and protection from the elements.
The wide side decks are also covered overhead. There is a door leading directly into the Master Stateroom from the aft deck, and 2 side doors port and starboard at the lower helm station location for easy access and docking from the lower helm

Here's a couple of short videos of a fishing trip with my daughter summer and my son-in-law Dr. Trey Coffey of Ft. Myers Florida. Dr. Coffey is not much of a not nautical man, as my daughter Summer was pretty much raised boating. Camping, sailing things like that. This was literally the second time he had ever been out on the boat with me. It was a little bumpy that day on the water under the Skyway bridge in Tampa Bay Florida when I noticed he was a little unsteady on the bow so I filmed it. Of course Trey, once he knew he was being filmed played it like a movie star! Look how he reaches out for my daughter to help him stabilizing himself?? Then plays to the camera for the finale. What a ham! Capt Jack Sparrow,aka Dr. Trey Coffey caught the biggest fish a 4-5 foot shark, which he released!

Impeachment trial of President Trump | Jan. 31, 2020 (FULL LIVE STREAM)
A crucial vote is anticipated Jan. 31 on whether to call witnesses in the Trump impeachment trial, including former national security adviser John Bolton. In a manuscript of his new book, Bolton reportedly says that Trump directly tied the holdup of nearly $400 million in military assistance to Ukraine to investigations of the Bidens.
Trump was impeached by the House of Representatives in December for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. Impeachment does not mean that the president has been removed from office. In the next phase, the Senate must hold a trial to make that determination. A Senate impeachment trial has happened only two other times in American history and once in the modern era. At the center of the Democrats’ case is that Trump sought to withhold military assistance and an Oval Office meeting until Ukraine announced investigations into former vice president Joe Biden and his son.
