Самара непарадная - Затерянные во времени. Samara inside out - Lost in time
Samara is the large city in The Russian Federation. Standing on the Volga river left bank in the middle part of Russia. Samara is a high - contrast town. A big city turns to a small town in center. Its historical center holds exclusive and authentic character. Breathe in the fresh Volga air and look around. There is no city like this.
The blocks of old Samara have the ideal geometry points. It helps to measure the distances and open spaces. It points to driving and walking directions – from south to north, from west to east, from Volga river to Samara river. The growth of the built-up area was created by strict town planning controls. Samara’s buildings are too diverse to be characterized by any particular architectural style. There are no the same buildings in the streets. Woody houses had deep groovy carving windows and doors. Brick and stone buildings had expensive exterior items. But getting cheap home care services today. And now some of the landscape has changing in so a little time.
Episode 10. Walking on Vladimir Mayakovsky street and Korostelyov Brothers street. Time stands still here. Between modern buildings you can see 19th century woddy houses. Lost in time. And just modern reflections in old windows.

Russian River Cruise Travel Video - Volga River cRUISE
UPDATE 2015: Shot a few years ago, this video by Don Dulmadge is still a superb way to give you an upfront view of culture, georgeous scenery and excitement you can expect from our Russian Cruises! While we may change vessels - the sights and stunning beauty remain the same!
Check out all the details on our website:
Russia is the largest country in the world, home to 150 million people and spanning 11 time zones. Over a thousand years of culture, history, intrigue, and mystery. Ornate palaces, giant squares, magical fountains, the first man in space, world-renowned literature, art, and music. Since 1991, when Perestroika opened Russia to the world, millions of visitors have poured into Moscow to marvel at the Red Square, the unique onion domes of Saint Basil's Cathedral, and the vast Kremlin grounds adorned with giant bells and cannons. Millions have come to St. Petersburg to view the incomparable wealth of the Hermitage Museum, the grandeur of Pavlovsk and Catherine Palaces, and the magic of Peterhof Fountains, where water is propelled by ingenious design and gravity, not by modern pumps or technology. But Russia is not just Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia is also Goritza, a typical riverside peasant village, where you can break bread with an authentic local family. Russia's Uglich, Yaroslavl, and Kizhi, but most all of all, Russia is its people, old and young alike, who will impress you with their hospitality, humor, and generous spirit, their curiosity, intelligence, and their Slavic duše, or soul.
The ship, refurbished in 2006, holds a maximum of 240 passengers, along with 100 crew members. Her cabins are clean and comfortable, featuring all lower berths, private bathrooms with showers, refrigerators, air conditioning and opening windows. Aboard all our ships, meals are served in our spacious panorama restaurants and night bars, and are complimented with a number of additional feasts and surprises. Blini and caviar tasting, tea parties, and vodka and champagne galore. After a full day of sightseeing, you can rest and relax in one of our elegant lounges, where a talented team of classical musicians, folklore dancers, and our live dance band will entertain you until the wee hours of the morning.
After another day of sightseeing, the time will come to bid St. Petersburg goodbye, as you set sail on your Volga adventure. Enjoy our welcome cocktails and dinner, and then party away as our on-board entertainers enthrall you with their playing, singing, and dancing. Your first stop downstream will be at the delightful green station of Mondraga, where a typical 19th-century Russian village has been recreated. Here, you will see artisans at work and be able to purchase their creations. You will also have a chance to see the unique Vodka Museum, featuring over 2,500 versions of Russia's national drink. Then it's time to enjoy an authentic riverside barbecue with shashlik, wine, and special entertainment.
Kizhi Island, one of the 1,650 island dotting the immense Lake Onega, is reminiscent of a fairy tale. The structures found on the island are authentic examples of traditional Russian wooden architecture from the turn of the century. The most spectacular is the Church of Transfiguration, whose 22 cupolas were constructed by Master Nestor without the use of a single nail. Back on board, it's time to take in one of our many cultural and entertainment activities. Enjoy a lecture on Russian history or Russian arts and souvenirs. Then, sit back and enjoy an on-board concert performed by our fabulous folklore ensemble.
In the typical riverside village of Goritza, you will visit an authentic peasant house, where you will be welcomed and served delicious homemade food. The day will end with another treat, our on-board caviar and champagne party. Founded in 1010 by Prince Yaroslavl the Wise, Yaroslavl is one of Russia's oldest cities. During the Middle Ages, it was a main training center and one of three Golden Ring Cities. Today, the Church of Elijah the Prophet boasts of some of the oldest original icons, dating back as far as the 13th century. It is also home to one of the most renowned a cappella choirs in all of Russia.
The town of Uglich is closely linked to the darker side of Russian history. It is here that the 10-year-old crown Prince Dmitri, the youngest son of Ivan the Terrible, was murdered, which brought Boris Godunov to the throne and turmoil to the country. The day will end with a classic concert, preformed by two of Russia's most renowned classical musicians, who will fill the evening with romance and raw emotion. As you continue sailing towards Moscow, the evening is reserved for our Captain's Gala Dinner, featuring vodka, champagne, and entertainment. Then it's time for some silly fun and laughter at our talent show, where both passengers and staff get to strut their stuff.

As a reference to the Biennale concept, TLG 2.0 -- Through the looking glass 2.0 idea arises from the multiple functions of the screen: on the one hand, it divides two realities (specifically the real world from its projection), on the other hand it allows -- as a monitor -- a double-quick transmission of information through television and, above all, through the web.
As a consequence, every event loses its uniqueness and significance becoming a drop in a sea of other events, in a perpetual synchronization that reduces and flattens everything in an eternal present causing a loss of perspective, history, importance.
In the meantime, the speed of communication itself and the related independence of the sources (anyone can post photos, videos and accounts on the web, in honour of the citizen journalism) let be anyone who wishes to up-to-date on any event in every corner of the world or nearly so. As a result, the so-called international public opinion is heavily influenced, in a way that would have been unthinkable a few decades ago and may not be considered free from manipulation.
In other words, while we all are virtually well-informed (an all that means those who have access to satellite TV and a fast web connection), on the other hand, the large amount of information makes it difficult to distinguish between the truth and the mystification, the information and the deformation and, ultimately, no one can be sure that reality is as it appears on the screen.
The title of the project takes a leaf from Lewis Carroll novel Through the looking glass and what Alice found there the classic novel of English literature where Alice goes through the mirror in her house and finds a world that looks like her own world, but it is very different.
This could be comparable to our experience with the screen or the monitor: we see something that looks like familiar, but -be it a film, or web news or photos- it can be very different.
We all are Alice, sometimes scared of the images, sometimes fascinated, but never neutral.
We do confront the images on the screen, but sometimes -especially when images come from a reality far away from our ordinary world- we can understand them only partially.
Actually, the East and the West could find a relation between their reality, but they will never understand the images in the same way.
The abbreviation TLG concerns to the web habit to put everything in acronym, that is a brand new way to communicate, but sometimes it makes us loose the real sense, the essence or the meaning of the word.
The attribute 2.0 is the conventional way to describe a particular web codification, that it is based on the sharing of everything, from information to images, and so on.
TLG 2.0 looks like the name of a program release or patch; it seems familiar but it is not. It's like a criticism to the impoverishment of the language that often runs into ridiculousness.
The subtitle Through the Looking-Glass has the task of clarify or reveal the joke and makes us meditate upon the ambiguity of the language and the images we watch on the screen. Susanna Crispino

The Lada 4×4, formerly called the Lada Niva is the Russian word for field), is an off-road vehicle designed and produced by the Russian (former Soviet) manufacturer AvtoVAZ specifically for the rural market, although models made for urban use are sold.
It was the first mass production off-road vehicle to feature a unibody architecture, independent front suspension with coil springs, and is a predecessor to current crossover SUVs which nearly all follow this format; it inspired the Suzuki Vitara. Like the Vitara, the Lada 4×4 uses a recirculating ball truck steering box for off-road reliability. Pickup and emergency van versions are produced by VAZInterService.
The Lada 4×4 was formerly called the Lada Niva. The name change occurred after the Niva brand was transferred to General Motors, though AvtoVAZ retains the rights to the equivalent Cyrillic name, Нива. It was also marketed as the Lada Sport in Iceland,Lada Taiga in Austria, Bognor Diva in Uruguay and Lada Cossack in the United Kingdom. Since 2014 it has been sold as the LADA 4×4 in Russia, a name which is also beginning to replace Niva in export markets.
It was also the first VAZ model which, in additional to the brand's classic export name and the engine displacement, also featured an export name of the model itself (Niva); previous models (the Zhiguli) only featured the brand's export name, Lada, followed by the engine displacement. Also, the Niva was the only VAZ model to use the same model name for both domestic and export markets (VAZ-2121 Niva for domestic, and Lada Niva 1600 for export); the other models had export names different from the names used in the domestic market (for example, the VAZ-2109 Sputnik was the Lada Samara 1500 for export, and the VAZ-2105 Zhiguli, was marked as the Lada Riva 1300 outside the USSR).

History
The Niva was described by its designers as a “Renault 5 put on a Land Rover chassis” Development began in 1971, after the 24th Congress of CPSU, where Alexei Kosygin (the then-Premier of the Soviet Union) gave the designers at VAZ and AZLK the task of creating a car suitable for rural areas – for the villagers and farmers of the Soviet Union – since the usual Zhiguli, Moskvitch and Zaporozhets, intended primarily for ordinary people, were not much of use in isolated areas, which made up a large part of the former-USSR. In the same year, a team of VAZ designers, under Vladimir Solovyev as a chief designer, began competing with AZLK to work on a civilized four-wheel drive vehicle. The new car was inspired in part by the IZh-14 prototype of 1974. It was VAZ's first model not based on Fiat, although much of its mechanics were carried over from the earlier Fiat 124- or 125-based Zhiguli models (mostly the VAZ-2103 and 2106). However, the body, four-wheel drive system, and front suspension were designed by VAZ. The first prototypes appeared quickly in 1971 and 1972, but were rejected as too utilitarian, so doors and a hardtop were added. This version debuted in 1973 and was a major step away from the off-road vehicles of the period, seeing as they used an ordinary car body , in this case a classic hatchback of the time. This took its inspiration from the prototype known as the VAZ-1101 (itself derived from the Fiat 127), and was created by designer Valery Pavlovitch.
