Monastery at the Fields Kabile
The monastery named “The Birth of God’s Mother” stands out in the middle of a field, nearby the archeology reserve of Kabile 6km away from the town of Yambol. Its well-kept yard brings joy to the visitor’s eye with its numerous plants and flowers.
The monastery is currently run by nuns, while the church holiday on the 8th of September attracts a lot of pilgrims who are generously fed by the monastery’s hosts. Most pilgrims are drawn here by the belief that the monastery’s holy spring will bring them health and longevity. Often, those grateful for being cured are coming back with generous gifts. In the late antiquity (4-5th c), Kabile was a big religious centre while about 1km away from the present-day archeology reserve there was a monastery during the time of Emperor St Constantine the Great. According to a legend, Queen Elena often sent people to the monastery in order to bring her back water from the curative spring. Later, the monastery became an Orthodox cloister inhabited by nuns and existed as such until the Ottoman invasion in the late 14th c. Despite the monastery’s destruction, the memory of the magic water was kept from generation to generation. In 1898, Stoyan Ganev from the village of Kabile, while resting after work in the field saw in his dream a woman in black, who showed him the place of the curative spring. The ploughman started digging in this spot and indeed, water sprang out. Later, however, rows with his countrymen forced Stoyan Ganev to dig the spring back below the surface which according to the story blinded him in this very minute. For 17 years the place was covered with grass and weeds. In 1918, an old lady from Sliven (Maria Marinova) rediscovered the spring after a prophetical dream. There, generous people built a small chapel around which a monastery gradually was erected. Construction works started in 1919 and ended in 1944. The biggest merit for the successful construction had a man from the village of Gen. Inzovo – Georgi Nikolov, who travelled from village to village and raised donations for several years. Since 1995, the monastery has been run by a 26-year old nun, Minodora.

The Building of Ss. Nicholas, Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Roseland, NJ
This is a slide show of photos taken during the constuction of Ss. Nicholas, Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Roseland, NJ
Why is Constantine a Saint?
My discoveries of Constantine are recent. I believe his canonization is ideological, and not based on anything true. To make it a requirement that a person accept the sainthood of Constantine in order to be Orthodox, would be heretical because they would be placing Constantine on the level of Orthodox dogma. The title The Great is also wrong, because in Christianity, the only one who is great is the Lord Jesus Christ. The title The Great, is non-Christian, and comes from the world (Herod the Great, Pompey the Great, Alexander the Great, etc).
I presented my thesis to some Orthodox clergy for why Constantine's sainthood is problematic, but did not receive any answers, except from one priest who directed me to a book by a Roman Catholic author.
Most people have probably never even thought about why we call Constantine a saint. They just assume that if the paradigm calls him a saint, then he must be one. Following crowds is the slave-herd mentality, and is psychological. The Asch Conformity experiments in the 1950's proved that people are more prone to follow groups due to peer pressure, and will even lie in order to fit in, than to think independently, since we are social creatures.
St. Jerome's sainthood is also problematic, because he justified the death penalty for heretics. (Heron, The Evolution of Latin Christianity, p. 323). The Empress Theodora's sainthood is impossible because she killed about 100,000 Paulicians. The Emperor Justinian executed apostates from the faith. These people were too violent and bloody to be Christian saints. No saint of God would ever kill another person just because of a difference in doctrine. Why is Augustine considered a saint, since he was a persecutor and the father of the concept of Christian persecution? (Cloud, A History of the Churches, p. 41). The German Church historian, August Neander wrote that Augustine's teaching contains the germ of the whole system of spiritual despotism, intolerance, and persecution, even to the court of the Inquisition. (page 41). Augustine interpreted Luke 14:23 (compel them to come in) to mean Christ required the churches to use force against heretics (page 41). Jesus Christ never told his followers to persecute and kill non-believers. In his parable of the wheat and tares, he taught that the wheat and tares are to grow together until the end. (Matthew 13:24-30). In the year 416 Augustine cursed Donatists for not baptizing infants. (Cloud, History of the Churches, p. 51). St. Paul told us to bless those who persecute us, and not to curse them (Romans 12:14). Christ taught us to bless those who curse us and to love our enemies (Matthew 5). How can any man who curses people and persecutes others be called Blessed Augustine? Jesus also taught us to be as wise as serpents and harmless as doves (Matthew 10:16). The first execution of heretics occurred in Trier in 385. Killing people for heresy is not a concept of the New Testament or of the primitive Church. Please also note, the reason why God did not allow Solomon to build the temple, was because he had to much blood on his hands. But God said unto me, Thou shalt not build an house for my name, because thou hast been a man of war, and hast shed blood. (1Chron. 28:3); so it was reserved for David.
POSSIBLE LOGICAL FALLACIES TO BE COMMITTED BY CRITICS OF THIS VIDEO
1. Personal attacks against me (Ad Hominem).
2. It may be argued that since most of my sources are not Orthodox, therefore the information is false. This would be the Guilt By Association Fallacy, because the critic is biased and automatically dismisses anything coming from heterodox or secular sources. It's also a Non-Sequitur.
3. It may be argued that I am just trying to get attention. This would be the Appeal to Motive Fallacy.
4. I may be accused of being a secret Protestant (Ad Hominem Fallacy).
5. The video is a product of mental illness (Ad Hominem, Circumstantial Ad Hominem, and Psychogenetic Fallacies).
6. The critic may suppress evidence that clearly contradicts his bias and/or assumptions about Constantine. This would be the Fallacy of Suppressed Evidence.
7. I may be accused of being an apostate from Orthodoxy or in prelest (Ad Hominem's). These would be ridiculous accusations because I am not questioning Christianity, the Christian Gospel, the doctrine of the apostles, the canons, the creeds, apostolic tradition, or Orthodox theology. To place Constantine on these levels would be blasphemous and heretical.
8. The Red Herring fallacy is committed by people who change the subject and attempt to divert your attention away from the main issue.
9. Psychoanalyzing why I asked about Constantine and made this video (Psychogenetic Fallacy).
Note: I had actually uploaded this video several days ago, but removed it because I needed to make some adjustments.
