Learn about the history of East Donegal and the province of Ulster at Monreagh Heritage and Education Centre near Carrigans Village, County Donegal. Discover your past at our Family History Museum, observe a demonstration of industrial crafts in our History Garden, enjoy a live musical performance, or join in with some traditional Scottish dancing. Watch linen being produced by hand at one of our Heritage Afternoons. View the many artifacts and wall murals on display in our themed rooms.
The museum has an extensive library of free pamphlets, brochures and booklets. Everyone is welcome and we look forward to seeing you on your next visit to Donegal. The Centre is open to individuals, schools, colleges, history groups, bus tours, holidaymakers or anyone who has an interest in local history and culture.
Monreagh Heritage and Education Centre hosts regular cultural events, workshops, presentations and film evenings. The Centre is open all year, Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm.

16 interviewees participate in the film, with some interviews from representatives of the Monreagh Ulster Scots Heritage Centre. This area also talks about the economic impact and customs. They talk a lot about Derry-Londonderry and the difference between where they lived compared to the violence and fear they saw in the city. We spoke to several people who crossed the border to work in Derry, of bombscares, & of hijackings. We also spoke to Donegal Protestants about their attitudes towards the border and the troubles as well as representatives of the local clergy in terms of their hope for the future.
