Haute Route 2014 Stage 4 6 Champex Le Chable Cab Mont Fort Cab de Prafleuri 720p
This is the second short video of a series documenting the Haute Route 2014 and stages 4-6 in particular from Champex to Cab de Prafleuri.
The trek from Champex to Le Chable was an easy day through lower alpine farm land and enjoyable in its own right. If not camping, I would recommend the Hotel de la Poste for a night's stay.
The trek from Le Chable to Cab de Mont Fort was quite demanding but essentially through a ski resort and it was only the last few km from the top of Verbier that felt remotely like a 'trek'. Cab de Mont Fort was staffed by only one young man.... his food was great, service excellent.
Significant snow at altitude definitely affected the route, particularly in sections above 2500m. The route between Cab de Mont Fort and Cab de Parfleuri is demanding, and was more so with snow underfoot. The 'exposed sections' throughout the route are interesting but the section above Cab de Prafleuri, including a snow traverse within six metres of a significant precipice and descent over ice laden rock, demanded respect.
A large group of Ibex below Cab de Prafleuri were an unexpected treat.
Cab de Prafleuri is an experience in itself, sharing a dorm with twenty others. (Bring ear plugs)

Mont Fort is a mountain of the Pennine Alps, located near Verbier in the Swiss canton of Valais. It lies on the range between the valleys of Bagnes and Nendaz, north of the Rosablanche. With a height of 3,328 meters above sea level.

The Haute Route | Chapter 7: Riding to Cabane du Mont Fort from Le Chable
On this leg of the Haute Route, we hiked from the tram to the Cabane du Mont Fort - which was included with our stay at the Cabane! We had a blast taking the tram to the top of Mont Fort and down again.
The Cabane du Mont Fort is beautifully situated above Verbier with a fantastic view of Mont Blanc. Without a doubt, this should be a stop for anyone completing the Haute Route.
Verbier Bruson Les Otanes itinerary 2017
The Bruson itinerary called Les Otanes. I unfortunately did not have a lot of snow, but the ride was awesome. Skiing between trees, such a delight! For confirmed skiers only!!!

Verbier - Switzerland - February 21-27 2015
My second trip in Europe. We had excellent ski condition in Verbier. We were very lucky because since we left no new snow felt on the ground, so we were very lucky with the 12 inches that we got.
We stayed at Hôtel Le Giétroz. I really recommand this hotel, it's not in Verbier, it's down the valley in a village called Le Châble. It's an old building, typic of this region and the staff is very gentle. You will love the chef Sébastien, every diner were incridible, Joelle and him make our trip more pleasant.
