We spent March break at Sunscape Splash Montego Bay resort in Jamaica. Since my and Elena got SSI scuba-diving certificates last October we took 6 dives package from “Kelly’s water sports” dive shop right on the resort property.
Our divemaster Wayne and his caption Dwayne took us on different spots along the Montego Bay.
The last day we got 8:00 morning dive at 24 meters for 33 minutes and visibility at that dive site was the best (around 30 meters) and the sea was calm.
After 10:00 the wind gets stronger and the visibility was reduced to 15-20 meters.

Bogue Lagoon Fish Sanctuary and Bird Island
The Montego Bay Marine Park encompasses nearly 16 square kilometers of mixed-use marine protected area (MPA), which serves as the backbone of Montego Bay’s economy and boasts over 20 kilometers of shoreline, including coral reefs, seagrass beds and mangrove ecosystems.
Established in 1979, the Bogue Lagoon Fish Sanctuary (now a Special Fishery Conservation Area), was one of Jamaica’s first fish sanctuaries. Initially established as a Game Reserve, the Bogue Lagoon continues to serve as a critical nursery for juvenile fish and crustaceans in the Montego Bay area.

Popular beaches include Doctor’s Cave Beach and Walter Fletcher Beach, home to an amusement park. There’s also snorkelling and diving at coral reefs in the protected waters of Montego Bay Marine Park.
