Kod Kozak Part IV: Another Modern Code/ Significance
In This fourth and Final video in the Kod Kozak series, I showcase the Orenburg Cossack Code of Honor. Parallels can be seen immediately between IUCF Code and Historical roots as well.
Furthermore I discuss the significance that these modern Codes have on Kazachestva as a whole, the Cossack Ideal of Freedom and much more.

SOT Nikolai Pankov, State secretary and Deputy Minister of Defence (Russian): Dear comrades, friends and colleagues. It is always sad when decent people depart us and it is sadder when they must depart forever, in the prime of their life. We lost a reliable comrade, noble and faithful son of our homeland. Today, we say goodbye to the Hero of the Russian Federation, Senior Lieutenant of Special Operation Forces Aleksandr Prokhorenko. A true officer, fearless warrior and patriot. He fulfilled his military duty with honour. He sacrificed himself while protecting the interests of Russia and peace on Syrian soil. It is a heavy and grievous loss for all of us. Germany: Names of newly identified Soviet war dead unveiled on WWII memorial
Memorial steles with the newly identified names of 15,503 Soviet soldiers killed during WWII were unveiled at a Soviet cemetery in Schloss Holte-Stukenbrock, North Rhine-Westphalia, on Thursday.
SOT, Thomas Kutschaty, Minister of Justice in North Rhine-Westphalia (German): Today, ladies and gentlemen many people have gathered here to see the names written in Stukenbrock. After over 70 years we are giving 15,503 Soviet dead their names back. Eighteen of these stones have names and dates which have been lasered into glass.
SOT, Vladimir Grinin, Russian Ambassador to Germany (Russian): I feel quite strange here, how can one feel when he comes to a grave where more than 60,000 Russian people are buried. They were prisoners of war, who died here because of known reasons. 16,000 names have been identified, but the search for other names will continue. We are very glad of this fact and very thankful to the organisation which takes care of war graves.
SOT, Thomas Kutschaty, Minister of Justice in North Rhine-Westphalia (German): It is an important day for Germany and North Rhine-Westphalia. We are giving back the names of 16,000 people, killed during WWII. There are millions of people who died in terrible wars and they have been nameless for a long time. Now, the people who come here to see them can find the names. It is important for the relatives who can come here and and commemorate the dead.

Good news from Rostov-on-Don. The long-awaited and important, for the entire Russian south, airport was opened today. It has a Cossack-style name, Platov. A new modern junction at the southern entrance to the city was opened today as a part of the FIFA World Cup preparations.
Tatars
This article is about the historical term. For the modern people now referred to as Tatars, see Volga Tatars.
The Tatars (Old Turkic tatar; modern Volga Tatar: Татарлар, Tatarlar تاتارلار ), historically Tartars, is an umbrella term for Turkic peoples in the territory of the former Russian Empire (and as such generally includes all Northwestern Turkic speaking peoples).

Khlopush's Monologue from Sergei Yesenin's Pugachev Performed By Vladimir Vysotsky
This video is a little different than the others: while usually this channel focuses on translating Vysotsky's songs, we shall temporarily gaze into Vysotsky's acting side.
In this video, we translate one of Vysotsky's most well-known theater performances (his most well-known, of course, being his portrayal of Hamlet). This video translates the monologue of a character called Khlopush, in Yuri Lyubimov's 1967 production at the Taganka Theatre of the 1921 play Pugachev, authored by the famous Russian poet Sergei Yesenin. The footage is dated January 20th, 1974.
For some historical and literary context, so that the speech makes sense:
After the death of the Russian emperor Peter III in 1762, his wife Catherine II (Catherine the Great) ascended to the throne of Russia. Partly due to the suspicious nature of Peter III's death, many pretenders came forth in the years that followed, claiming to be Peter III himself. The most famous of these pretenders was Yemelyan Pugachev, who led a peasant and Cossack rebellion from 1773 to 1775 (called Pugachev's Rebellion, the Cossack Rebellion, the Peasant's War of 1773-1775 under the leadership of Yemelyan Pugachev, etc.)
In October 1773, Pugachev led a detachment to siege the city of Orenburg. The wartime governor of Orenburg decided to send Khlopush, a convict sentenced to hard labor for multiple counts of robbery, to Pugachev's camp, for the purpose of sabotage. Khlopush instead allied with Pugachev and became one of his colonels and an overall leader in Pugachev's Rebellion.
This scene depicts Khlopush's arrival in Pugachev's camp, and his attempts to see Pugachev, despite the suspicion cast upon him.
In this context, the speech fits together very logically. The journey that Khlopush refers to is the journey to Pugachev's camp outside of Orenburg. The line (Let him not even be Peter!) suggests that Khlopush doesn't necessarily believe that Pugachev really is Peter III, but he doesn't have to be, as the mob loves him for wildness and daring.

Reinventing Cavalry in WW1 - Bulgarian General Ivan Kolev I WHO DID WHAT IN WW1?
Cavalry was seen as leftover from the past in the dawn of modern warfare during World War 1. But Bulgarian General Ivan Kolev was one of the few who still saw a place for them on the modern battlefield. He reinvented the cavalry role and used them together with early motorised infantry - with great success during the Romanian campaign. He died before the war was over but people like August von Mackensen or Heinz Guderian were still impressed with his legacy.

SUMMARY

The Kazakhs (also spelled Kazaks, Qazaqs; Kazakh: Қазақ, Qazaq, قازاق /qɑ'zɑq/ , Qazaqtar, Қазақтар, قازاقتار /qɑzɑq'tɑr/ ; the English name is transliterated from Russian) are a Turkic people who mainly inhabit the southern part of Eastern Europe and the Ural mountains and northern parts of Central Asia (largely Kazakhstan, but also parts of Uzbekistan, China, Russia and Mongolia), the region also known as the Eurasian sub-continent. Kazakh identity is of medieval origin and was strongly shaped by the foundation of the Kazakh Khanate between 1456 and 1465, when several tribes under the rule of the sultans Zhanibek and Kerey departed from the Khanate of Abu'l-Khayr Khan.
The Kazakhs are descendants of the Turkic and medieval Mongol tribes – Argyns, Dughlats, Naimans, Jalairs, Keraits, Khazars, Qarluqs; and of the Kipchaks and Cumans, and other tribes such as the Huns and Nogais, and ancient Iranian nomads like the Sarmatians, Saka and Scythians who populated the territory between Siberia and the Black Sea before the 5th and 13th centuries AD.

SUMMARY
=======
The Tatars (; Tatar: татарлар; Russian: татары) are a Turkic-speaking peoples living mainly in Russia and other Post-Soviet countries. The name Tatar first appears in written form on the Kul Tigin monument as ???????????? (Ta-tar). Historically, the term Tatars was applied to anyone originating from the vast Northern and Central Asian landmass then known as the Tartary, which was dominated by various mostly Turco-Mongol semi-nomadic empires and kingdoms. More recently, however, the term refers more narrowly to people who speak one of the Turkic languages.
The Mongol Empire, established under Genghis Khan in 1206, allied with the Tatars. Under the leadership of Genghis Khan's grandson Batu Khan (c. 1207–1255), the Mongols moved westwards, driving with them many of the Mongol tribes toward the plains of Kievan Rus'. The Tatar clan still exists among the Mongols, Hazaras and Uzbeks. The largest group by far that the Russians have called Tatars are the Volga Tatars, native to the Volga region (Tatarstan and Bashkortostan), who for this reason are often also simply known as Tatars. They compose 53% of population in Tatarstan. Their language is known as the Tatar language. As of 2002 they had an estimated population around 5 million in Russia as a whole. There is a common belief that Russians and Tatars are closely intermingled, illustrated by the famous saying scratch any Russian just a little and you will discover a Tatar underneath and the fact that a number of noble families in Tsardom of Russia and Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth had Tatar origins; however, genetics show that majority of Russians form a cluster with Northern and Eastern Europeans (especially Belarusians, Ukrainians and Poles), and are relatively far from Tatar peoples. In modern-day Tatarstan, however, Russian-Tatar marriages are very common.Current day Tatars comprise a range of physical appearances, from Mongoloid to Caucasoid.
