514 N 11th St Morehead City, NC 28557 - Waterfront Lot for Sale
Along the Crystal Coast of North Carolina and in the very heart of Morehead City, North Carolina there is a beautiful parcel of land located at 514 North 11th Street.
514 North 11th Street is a 0.32 of an acre of land with some hard wood trees growing on it. The parcel juts out in one of the most northern edges of Morehead City. It sits right at the mouth of Calico Creek and Calico Bay giving well over 180 degrees of unobstructed water views and access. It is simply a gorgeous location with magnificent views!
Think about it. What are all of the features and attributes of an ideal waterfront property? Panoramic views, easy water and land access, proximity to choice locations both on water and land, and affordability. 514 North 11th Street is a parcel of land that offers all of this and more. It truly presents itself as a rare find.
The heart of Morehead City is a peninsula. Bogue Sound fronts the south side of Morehead while Calico Creek fronts the north side. Calico Creek widens into Calico Bay. This is where 514 North 11th Street is located. From Calico Bay you can head north up Adam’s Creek to the Neuse River and the Pamlico Sound. Or you can turn south and be just a few minutes away from the Morehead City Turning Basin and the NC State Port.
Your options further expand at this point in that you can turn west and go to the Morehead City waterfront or turn east and be at the Beaufort waterfront. But if you maintained a southerly heading you would go through Beaufort Inlet, with Shackleford Banks to the east and Fort Macon State Park and Bogue Banks to the west and the beautiful beaches of the Crystal Coast.
For the fisherman, Calico Creek offers some of the best opportunities for fish like speckled trout, drum and flounder that the Crystal Coast has to offer. Due east out of the mouth of Calico Creek is a very large marsh area known as the Haystacks. This area has long been known as one of the Crystal Coast’s fishing hot spots. It can be reached in minutes by boat or even kayak from Calico Creek.
Adjacent to 514 North 11th Street is a public dock. This approximately 100 foot long dock squares off at the end and is open for public use.
While located directly on the water, 514 North 11th Street is also situated within the very heart of Morehead City. You can walk to downtown Morehead City, restaurants, churches, marinas, boat docks, public recreational facilities and water accesses, boutique shops and a variety of retail stores. Most of all 11 Street Calico Creek affords quick entry into the many events and festivals sponsored by the town. A prime example is the North Carolina Seafood Festival. This annual event is the second largest festival in the state and is held downtown Morehead City on the waterfront.
Morehead City is also home to the world renowned Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament. This tournament awards millions of dollars to winning fishermen and raises thousands of dollars for charities.
The simple fact is this. The parcel on 514 North 11th Street is located at the heart of everything in Morehead City and surrounding areas. You can walk, bike, drive, boat, canoe or kayak to just about everywhere and to anything!
The gentrification of the area has been most impressive. Many new and large prestigious coastal homes are being built all along Calico Creek and it’s Bay. Smart property owners and home buyers are taking advantage of the magnificent water views and water access, much lower prices on the North side of the town, the closeness to downtown and all that the Crystal Coast has to offer.
Currently 514 North 11th Street is zoned “CM” which means Commercial Marina. This zoning affords many business opportunities if the land owner chooses. However it can be rezoned for residential purposes to “R5” where you can build your dream waterfront home. The process of rezoning from commercial marina to residential property is a simple process and should present no problems.

A Day Trip To Cape Lookout, North Carolina
We love the coast of North Carolina which boasts several historical lighthouses. Recently we had a chance to anchor near Cape Lookout where the water was warm, but the sky was a little bit overcast as a storm was blowing in from the Atlantic.

Travato Trip to NC Outer Banks - Episode 2: Ocracoke Island
There’s nothing like being able to camp right next to a beach. Add to that our first time taking our Travato on a ferry, the Travato’s first time on an island and getting to experience the land of Black Beard and the true NC Outer Banks at a time when tourists are few and far between. All those firsts and that lack of crowds made for a wonderful trip to NC’s little island village of Ocracoke.

Hurricane Florence starts flooding parts of the Carolinas Live News 247
Hurricane Florence starts flooding parts of the Carolinas
(CNN)The rain turned sideways Thursday, rivers swelled and floodwaters began to fill streets, as massive Hurricane Florence trudged toward North Carolina.
Florence is now a Category 1 storm with a 10-foot storm surge, according to the National Weather Service.
The storm's outer bands lashed towns on the barrier islands and on some of the Tar Heel State's rivers, as the center of the cyclone moved to make a probable Friday landfall.
In Morehead City, the rain and surf pounded the shoreline and took aim at the few boats still in the water. In New Bern, on the Neuse River, a CNN team had to keep shifting position in a park as the water kept rising until it was too dangerous to stay in the area.
A weather station in Atlantic Beach recorded a total of 12.73 inches for a 24-hour period.
Farther south, in Carolina Beach, the northern end of the town was being swamped as water crashed over the dunes.
Some areas also saw the first of the hurricane-force winds. At Cape Lookout there were sustained winds of 83 mph and gusts of 106.

Final Farewell to Debi - chap 2 of 8 The Island
Memorial Day 2008 - Our family said our final goodbyes to Debra Schneider Carli Parker from Cape Point near Cape Lookout Lighthouse, NC. The Outer Banks was her favorite getaway spot. Debi was a great wife, a loving mother, and my best friend. Tom Carli put together this impressive video. Total time (chapters 1 thru 8) = 38 min.
