Κρήνη Μοροζίνι, Ηράκλειο, Κρήτη / Morosini Fountain, Heraklion, Crete, Greece
Η Κρήνη του Μοροζίνι (γνωστή ως Κρήνη των Λεόντων) είναι ένα από τα ωραιότερα Ενετικά μνημεία του Χάνδακα, στην οποία έφτανε νερό από το Γιούχτα, μέσω του γιγάντιου υδραγωγείου του Μοροζίνι, μήκους 15χλμ. Η κρήνη παίρνει το όνομά της από τον Ενετό Γενικό Προβλεπτή της Κρήτης Francesco Morozini, κατά τη θητεία του οποίου κατασκευάστηκε το μεγάλο αυτό έργο που ξεδίψασε το Μεγάλο Κάστρο (Ηράκλειο). Εγκαινιάστηκε στις 25 Απριλίου 1628, δηλαδή την εορτή του προστάτη των Ενετών, Αγίου Μάρκου και τότε κόπηκε και αναμνηστικό μετάλλιο.
Η δεξαμενή έχει οκτάλοβο σχήμα για να μπορούν περισσότεροι άνθρωποι να παίρνουν νερό ταυτόχρονα. Διακοσμείται με ανάγλυφες παραστάσεις από την Ελληνική μυθολογία, κυρίως θαλάσσιες μορφές, όπως τρίτωνες και δελφίνια, καθώς και διάφορα οικόσημα των Ενετών. Πάνω από τη δεξαμενή υψώνονται τέσσερα λιοντάρια, από τα στόματα των οποίων ρέει το νερό. Στην κορυφή της κρήνης δέσποζε ένα μεγάλο άγαλμα του Ποσειδώνα, το οποίο, όμως κατέρρευσε, πιθανώς από σεισμό ή από τους Οθωμανούς που κατέστρεφαν τα αγάλματα.
Το 1847 οι Τούρκοι άλλαξαν τη μορφή της κρήνης προσθέτοντας μαρμάρινες κολόνες και επιγραφή που έγραφε «Συντριβάνι Αμπντούλ Μετζίτ». Επίσης τρύπησαν τους λοβούς και τοποθέτησαν βρύσες, καταστρέφοντας τις ανάγλυφες παραστάσεις.

Heraklion is the largest city and the administrative capital of the island of Crete. It is the fourth largest city in Greece.
Heraklion is the capital of Heraklion regional unit.

CRETE, walking on 600 year old bridge!
The aqueduct bridge of Agia Irini is the largest construction in the entire length of the Venetian Aqueduct Morosini which carried water to the city of Heraklion.
The Candia, the current Heraklion always had problem of scarcity. As the 17th century. the town was supplied with water from wells with brackish water, small fountains and water tanks that have been accumulating rainwater. In 1639 we know that there were 1270 wells and 273 tanks. The source water pipeline in the fountain that survives in kornarou square today by capitan Générale Gian Matteo Bembo in 1552-did not solve the problem. The aqueduct, that inside of the city passed from a bridge, in today's trilobi square Three Arches, supplied the fountain that keeps to our days the name of intendant Morosini in Piazza delle Biade, El. Venizelou square today or on the most beloved Lions.
The General proveditor Francesco Morosini designed and implemented, with the assistance of mechanical Monnani Zorzi Corner, Raffaello and Francesco Basilicata, the ambitious project of water supply, the construction of a 15 km long aqueduct, which carried the waters of various sources from the northern slopes of the sacred mountain. The project lasted 14 months and was inaugurated on the day of the feast of the Patron Saint Mark, on 25 April 1628.
The fountain has a polylobi tank decorated with reliefs from the marine Kingdom (newts, dolphins, mythological monsters, sea demons) and coats of arms. The water was running from the mouth of four axially placed lions, based on a pedestal in the center of the fountain and supporting marble basin. Ναός του Ποσειδώνα, έχω γνωρίσει πολλούς ανθρώπους ως γραφική βρεθεί νωρίς, φαίνεται ότι οι άνθρωποι έχουν αφήσει πίσω γκράφιτι μνημείο για να επισκεφθείτε. Byron ήταν επίσης ένας Έλληνας αγαπούσε ένας από αυτούς, πολύ πριν πάρω μια ανάσα φραγμένο με εκπληκτική θέα χρειάζεται να κατανοήσουμε τη συμπεριφορά; Canyon είναι ένα εξαιρετικά θέση υπεράκτιας αιολικής ενέργειας θέσεις. 약 7년 전 남아프리카 공화국을 중심으로 야생동물 사냥이 합법화 되면서
유럽과 북미 서구의 사냥 애호가들이 아프리카로 모여들었다.
아프리카의 상징인 백수의 제왕 사자는 한낱 사냥감으로 전락했고
멸종위기에 처한 코뿔소와 코끼리의 밀렵도 기승을 부리고 있다.
