Mount Abu INDIA - 2 Day TREK on Rajasthan’s ONLY Hill Station
WE ARRIVED IN MOUNT ABU IN MID APRIL 2019
We arrived into Mount Abu after a 6ish hour drive in a taxi from Pushkar! We had heard some amazing things about Charles who led treks there and we wanted to check it out! We had one night booked in the town so we grabbed some lunch (the thali) and wondered around Nikki Lake to Toad Rock. As Rajasthan’s only hill station, we were enjoying the break from the heat. The next morning, we met Charles! We loved him instantly, he was funny, regularly does an excellent Yorkshire accent impression but most importantly he obviously cared a lot about Mount Abu. His knowledge of the trees, flowers and wildlife was insane. The trek was beautiful (we were lucky was it was overcast as wasn’t too hot) and we had the most amazing lunch on a fire under a rock. We carried on to a local village where we joined a family to stay in their mud hut. Charles had developed a relationship with this village all on his own, and we felt privileged to be experiencing the village life. The mud hut was impressively built, it didn’t even leak during the insane thunderstorm. The family, although didn’t speak English were friendly and kept up full of tea and curry. The next morning, the weather was clear and sunny, we made our descent down the mountain, hearing the hiss of the cicadas all the way down! This trek was the favourite part of my family’s holiday - Charles we cant thank you enough!

Roadways bus rent for a day is 100 rs. per person and for ladies 75 rs. for a day to visit complete tour to mount abu. and 25 rs. extra guide charge will be applicable.
Bike on rent also available at mount abu , you need a valid licence proof for a bike rent. you bikes are easily available on mount abu. prices are different because of season . you can take a bike on rent rs. 100 to 500 and more for a complete day fuel charges not included in rent price. you can take activa , Jupiter , 100 cc bikes and royal enfield etc.
mount abu is very chip Honeymoon palace for new couples and travelers. here you can get room very easily on reasonable price rooms are available from 300 to 5000 rs... etc.
or you can stay on bed system in rs. 100 for night.
and food is also chip you can get full diet in minimum 100 rs.
best time to visit mount abu is around September and October

Mount Abu Part 2 | Fun & Adventure Activities | Things To Do in Abu
Mount Abu Part 2 | Before few weeks, I had the pleasure of visiting the most amazing, not-so-traveled place of Mount Abu, Aarna WIld Campsite, where-in we had extreme fun doing these high rope adventure activities & zip lining. If you haven't yet seen Part-1 of this epic trip, well, you must go and check out this link first:
Day 2 started with a sunrise trek, followed by breakfast and some naps before we headed to the activities. High rope activities were the actual fun part, which will also test your physical strength. Adding to scenery were the panoramic views of the hills, surrounded by lush green forest and beautiful landscape. We checked out of the site after a deliciously cooked lunch and went straight to the Nakki lake for paddle boating, because paddle boats are much more fun than the regular boats, you must have seen that in the video. Camping in Mount Abu Part 1 | Summer Getaway Destination for Gujaratis
Camping in Mount Abu is filled with thrills & adventures. As Abu is the nearest hill station to Ahmedabad, many people visit it during the summer. This time we were planning to do something different then what everyone does in Mount Abu usually, and guess what?! We ended up finding this raw, beautiful, untouched and not-so-famous destination in Mount Abu, which is actually very adventurous. So this is Part 1 of my trip to camping in Abu with a bunch of friends. We reached this amazing place called Aarna Wild at night & stayed in a huge tent, which could accommodate up to 8 people, and after finishing dinner we had the most amazing time swinging and dancing whilst cold winds. Well... you'll definitely know the importance of cool winds if you have spent a day during summer in India. That was such a re-freshening feeling, we felt no tiredness of the journey. Next day started with a trek to the sunrise point at 5:30, early in the morning accompanied with an experienced guide. On the way to sunrise point, we also found footprints of a wild animal who might just be roaming around while we were just chilling in the campsite. Upon reaching the top, we experienced the most beautiful sunrise, spreading magnificent colors all around. Mount Abu Hill Station Journey
Mount Abu the hill station of Rajasthan. It is at a height of 1219 meters above sea level. This is the only hill station of western India. It is a popular hill station in the Aravalli Range in Sirohi district of Rajasthan state in western India near the border with Gujarat. The mountain forms a distinct rocky plateau of 22 km long by 9 km wide. The highest peak on the mountain is Guru Shikhar at 1,722 m (5,650 ft) above sea level. It is referred to as 'an oasis in the desert' as its heights are home to rivers, lakes, waterfalls and evergreen forests. Nearest Railway station is Abu Road Railway station.
Mount Abu Hill Station Journey.
The mountain is also home to several Hindu temples, including the Adhar Devi Temple (also known as Arbuda Devi Temple), carved out of solid rock; the Shri Raghunathji Temple; and a shrine and temple to Dattatreya built atop the Guru Shikhar peak and a number of Jain temples including Dilwara Temples, a complex of temples carved of white marble that was built between the 11th and 13th centuries AD. The oldest of these is the Vimal Vasahi temple, built in 1021 AD by Vimal Shah and dedicated to the first of the Jain Tirthankaras and they include the Achaleswar Mahadev Temple (1412) and the Kantinath Temple (1513). It is also the location of the headquarters of the Brahma Kumaris.
The Achalgarh fort, built in the 14th century by Rana Kumbha of Mewar is nearby and at its center is the popular visitor attraction of the Nakki Lake. There is the Toad Rock on a hill near the lake. Close to the fort, is the Achaleshwar Mahadev Temple, a popular Shiva temple. Durga temple, Ambika Mata Temple lies in a cleft of rock in Jagat, just outside Mount Abu town.

Mount Abu is a popular hill station in the Aravalli Range in Sirohi district of Rajasthan state in western India, near the border with Gujarat. The ancient name of Mount Abu is Arbudaanchal. In the Puranas, the region has been referred to as Arbudaranya (forest of Arbhuda) and 'Abu' is a diminutive of this ancient name. It is believed that sage Vashistha retired to the southern spur at Mount Abu following his differences with sage Vishvamitra. There is another mythology according to which a serpent named Arbuda saved the life of Nandi (Lord Shiva's bull). The incident happened on the mountain that is currently known as Mount Abu and so the mountain is named Arbudaranya after that incident which gradually became Abu.
The conquest of Mount Abu in 1311 CE by Rao Lumba of Deora-Chauhan dynasty brought to an end the reign of the Parmars and marked the decline of Mount Abu. He shifted the capital city to Chandravati in the plains. After the destruction of Chandravati in 1405, Rao Shasmal made Sirohi his headquarters. Later it was leased by the British government from the then Maharaja of Sirohi for use as the headquarters.
