Hutan Rekreasi Gunung Belumut di Kluang Johor Bahru
Hutan Rekreasi Gunung Belumut terletak 32 km dari Bandar Keluang yaitu melalui Jalan Raya Keluang-Mersing, 137 km dari Bandar Johor Bahru. Gunung Belumut diberi nama sesuai keadaan batu-batu di gunung ini yang licin dan berlumut.
Perjalananan ke puncak gunung ini, pengunjung perlu melalui jalan balak menggunakan kenderaan pacuan empat roda atau berjalan kaki melalui denai. Di kaki gunung ini terdapat aliran air terjun yang sederhana tinggi dan airnya sejuk serta nyaman, ia menjadi tarikanpengunjung untuk datang terutama pada musim cuti atau hujung minggu.
Namun sayang, peraturan terbaru menyebutkan tidak sembarang orang bisa mendaki ke puncak gunung ini. Bahkan banyak terpasang di area ini papan tertulis yang menyebutkan Denda Bagi siapa melanggar aturan ini. Tidak tanggung-tanggung denndanya sampai sebesar RM 10.000
Dari penuturan petugas jaga. Bagi pengunjung yang ingin mendaki kepuncak gunung ini dia harus mengurus surat ijin dari dinas kehutanan setempat dan wajib di temani pemandu.

2018 Gunung Lambak
Gunung Lambak is located in Kluang District of Johor Malaysia and stands at 510 metres above sea level. This hike is suitable for those who are new to hiking, has never hike overseas in a tropical jungle.

Mount Lambak (Gunung Lambak) is a small mountain in Kluang District, Johor, Malaysia.
It has been developed as a recreational and tourist attraction called Mount Lambak Recreational Forest.
Pathways and wooden bridges make it relatively easy to climb to the summit, and a picnic spot at the base of the mountain has car parking, benches, a small children's playground and toilets.
There is also chalet accommodation, camping facilities and a swimming pool.

This is the first time of me hiking in Johor. Gunung Pulai or aka Mount Pulai is located in Kulai district with its elevation at around 600m.
It has been really a new and fresh experience to hike with a group of energetic and enthusiasts. You can see a lot of hikers who are very friendly and amicable while hiking where they always greet you with smiles and big welcome!
At the end of the day, the hike might be exhausting, however there is something money can't buy - health!

Info
Kluang district is located in the middle of the state of Johor in Malaysia. It is geographically located at 110 km north from Johor Bahru, east-southeast of Batu Pahat, west of Mersing and south of Segamat.
The name Kluang derives from the Malay word 'keluang' which means a type of flying fox or rather a type of fruit bat. They have almost completely disappeared due to the combination of hunting and destruction of their natural habitat deforestation.
Some people believed that Kluang was named after two mountains that resemble the head and wing respectively of a bat from a distance.
Kluang was founded in 1915, to serve as the administrative centre for Central Johor.
A railway line linking north to south Malaya was built passing through Kluang to provide the communication link to transport labour and tropical produces from Kluang and this helped in its growth since 1915.
Roads were built to link Kluang to Johor Bahru towards the south, to Batu Pahat towards the north-west and to Mersing towards the east. Kluang is divided into two district councils namely Simpang Renggam District Council (Majlis Daerah Simpang Renggam) based in the town of Simpang Renggam and Kluang Municipal Council (Majlis Perbandaran Kluang) based in the town of Kluang which is also the district capital.
This district grew rapidly in 1920 and 1930 as a major rubber-producing district.
In its early days, Kluang as an entirely agricultural economy, is an agriculture hub of Johor; rubber and oil palm are the major crops.
With the establishment of Institute Pertanian it has benefited the agricultural sector of Kluang. Now it has the biggest dragon fruit orchard, organic vegetables farm, organic rice farm, pineapples and tea plantation.
Kluang is also famous for being the main producer of ceramic pottery and tiles, with pottery factories located at the boarder township of Machap. The most renowned tiles manufacturers are MML (Malaysian Mosaic), Venus Ceramic, Guocera and Claytan all located at Kluang Industrial area. Kluang has also developed various industries including polymer, porcelain, paper, textiles and electrical products.
It grew rapidly from agriculture sector to industrial sector in late 1970. The dynamic change was after the completion of BCB Plaza and Prime City Hotel, the first mega shopping mall in Kluang founded in 1996. The increasing commercial activities have brought major bank and stock brokerages house to set up branches in Kluang.
With the tremendous growth of economy, Kluang was upgraded from the status of District to Municipal on 31 January 2001. The first Kluang specialist medical centre was founded in year 2000, it provided the much-needed medical facility for Kluang residents.Kluang Parade was completed in February 2007 and is currently the 2nd biggest shopping mall in Kluang.
Kluang Mall opened in December 2008, and has since become the largest shopping mall for the community and the district at large. Kluang Mall has ushered in international brands like Starbucks, Baskin Robbins, Subway, KFC, Pizza Hut, H&M, Uniqlo, Cotton On, GNC, and regional brands like PDI, Brands Outlet, Cosas United and many more.
Kluang has become a vibrant town with a diverse option for shopping, dining, recreation and entertainment which a modern town should have.

HIKING MALAYSIA: Gunung Datuk sunrise and traditional Malay food in Malacca
While Gunung Datuk in Malaysia may not be high (855m) it does offer a spectacular sunrise and superb views over the peninsular and Straits of Malacca. Join Richard and the SG Trek crew as they get a 4am start to knock off another peak before spending a relaxing afternoon in the UNESCO World Heritage town of Malacca.

The Trail
The Gunung Datuk trail is like many other Malaysian paths as it features a lot of tree roots and orange, clay-like soil.
From the trailhead hut to the summit is only around 2.5km, but there is one extremely steep section around 30 minutes in that requires some scrambling and rope work.
The trail levels out afterwards and after around 2 hours you should reach a large rest area below the rocky summit from where everyone likes to watch the sunrise.
Scaffolding has been erected to enable hikers to climb up the rocks replacing ladders and ropes that were there previously.
The boulders top out at 710m but the official height of Datuk is 855m and there is another higher summit although not many venture that way.
Travel Logistics
Datuk is around a 4-hour drive from Singapore once across the border or a 1-hour drive south from Kuala Lumpur.
Getting there by public transport is possible, taxis will drop you off at the trailhead from the nearby towns of Tampin or Rembau.
A climbing permit (5 Ringgit) is required for Datuk and this can be purchased at the trailhead office. If you climb early the office will be closed, but you can buy it on the way down.

There are no known restrictions on the use of drones around Gunung Datuk.

Casa Bianca Villa & Setia Hotels are near the Gunung Lambak Recreation area. Good for short hike.
