Hiking the Highest Point in Virginia: Mount Rogers
Ethan Clark, Cory Johnson, and I drive 5.5 hours to hike the highest point in Virginia, Mount Rogers. We hiked 15 miles using the Appalachian trail to the summit and the Rhododendron Trail back to the trailhead. You can also do the Appalachian Trail to the summit in back for about an 18 mile hike, or the Rhododendron Trail out-and-back for a 8 mile hike.

Hiking Mount Rogers the highest point in Virginia
In this Video I show you How I hiked Mount Rodgers. I started from Grayson Highlands State park. They have a nice campground there however there are no restaurants. For food, sleeping arrangements, or supplies visit the Grayson Highlands general store/Inn in Mouth of Wilson VA. The owner Dennis is very helpful and the service is great. If you guys need anything else leave me a comment.
Marion, VA
Marion, located on the middle fork of the Holston River on historic Route 11, is the county seat of Smyth County. The Lincoln Theatre, a meticulously renovated Art-Deco Mayan Revival style performing arts center, is the home of the nationally-syndicated bluegrass music program Song of the Mountains. The General Francis Marion Hotel has also been completely restored as a AAA Three-Diamond boutique hotel. The town hosts ArtWalk with local artists and musicians on the second Friday of each month May through December.
Hungry Mother State Park is located west of town on scenic Route 16, called The Back of the Dragon by motorcyclists who enjoy its sweeping curves and magnificent vistas.

Salamanders of Mt. Rogers
In this video, I travel to Mt. Rogers in the southwest corner of Virginia. This mountain has both the highest peak in the state and the highest salamander diversity too. In this episode I find many species of salamanders including the protected Weller's Salamander.
