MT. TRASHMORE,Virginia Beach... AFTER BLIZZARD, December 28, 2010
Decided to pop over to Mt. Trashmore for some footage of the forbidden state park which they wont allow us to slide down when it snows...which is stupid. . Sorry...it's just a waste of a good time sitting there...waiting for us to take advantage. I mean, so what if some moron slid down the wrong side and hit a fire hydrant in 1996. It wasn't us so what the hell is the problem ? If it's unsafe, make it safer ! They sure would get a hell of alot more tousrists if they learned to be less stupid about things like this.

A Trip to Mt. Trashmore
It was a very bright day and I saw nothing but pure darkness on the LCD display. I didn't notice I cranked the ISO all the way up, making the footage noisy and rugged. But hey, I decided to make something out of it anyway.

Going Outdoors: Munzee at Mount Trashmore in Virginia Beach
First off, I'd like to apologize for the fact there's only 1.5 Munzee's featured in this video. My experience in Virginia Beach was so flat out irksome I should go back just to do a review of the atmosphere of the area. Mount Trashmore is a beautiful park in Virginia Beach, Virginia, perfect for Munzee! The LeftOvers4Dinner crew captured their first Virtual, and also planted a total of 10 Munzee's in the area. Unfortunately, there's a very high rude, instrusive Muggle factor at this park, so be careful while you're out Geocaching or Munzee-hunting!

Remediation of Mt Trashmore
Mayor Ganim, along with city officials declared the remediation of what was known as Mount Trashmore to be completed. In the early 1990's under Ganim's first stint as mayor, he and at the time State Representative Ernie Newton rallied to put a stop of the illegal dump located at Central Avenue at Trowel Street. Dubbed Mount Trashmore, the 35-foot-high, 30,000-ton pile of construction debris which was illegally dumped. The debris was removed in the early 90's but the dirty, contaminated soiled remained. In 2017 contractors were sought the environmental clean-up the soil which was completed today. There has been talk of senior housing on the two and a half acre lot but nothing has been made official at this time.
Places to see in ( Virginia Beach - USA )
Places to see in ( Virginia Beach - USA )
Virginia Beach, a coastal city in southeastern Virginia, lies where the Chesapeake Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean. A 3-mile boardwalk stretches along its beach-lined oceanfront. The bayside First Landing State Park marks the 1607 arrival of the Jamestown colonists from England. The Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center exhibits ocean life including sharks, rays and sea turtles in globally themed habitats.
Virginia Beach offers the classic beach vacation, and maintains a long-standing reputation as a family-friendly oceanfront resort. Visitors are greeted by a 300-foot wide beach lined by Virginia Beach’s three-mile concrete oceanfront Boardwalk. The resort offers a mild climate year-round. Itineraries include lazy days on the beach, the state parks and Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge beckon, hiking, kayaking, and biking adventures. Fishing, golfing, whale watching, dolphin watching, historic landmarks, and exciting attractions and popular events are part of the Beach experience.
With 35 miles of sandy beaches, a 3-mile concrete oceanfront boardwalk and nearby outdoor activities, it's no surprise that Virginia Beach is a prime tourist destination. The city has worked hard to shed its reputation as a rowdy 'Redneck Riviera,' and hey, the beach is wider and cleaner now and there are fewer louts. Beach aside, you'll find some lovely parks and nature sites beyond the crowded high-rises lining the shore. Expect thick crowds, heavy traffic and high prices if visiting in the summer.
