Mount Zwegabin - Hpa-An Myanmar
Mount Zwegabin is located near Hpa-An, Myanmar.
At 725m above sea level, it is one of South Myanmar's loved places. The temple and monastery on top are favorite pilgrimage sites, involving a good climb up numerous stairs, through beautiful scenery.
Visitors can sleep on top as well as enjoy good food in a local restaurant.

After Ngapali beach we went bit south to explore Hpa An! Absolutely beautiful town with lots of staff to do and we were hiking the highest peak around Hpa An which is Mount Zwegabin. The views from there were stunning!

Mount Zwegabin is one of the largest of the limestone mountains around Hpa An in Myanmar. This is a must do when you are in the region. It is among my best places to visit and recommended things to do in Myanmar!

Breeze Guesthouse Mawlamyine : $7 USD Single room share bathroom, decent room and okay facilities, including breakfast.
Mt Zwegabin, 723 metres high, mainly steps, trekking boots not required, but take a change of clothes, and something warm for the morning. Shower facilities are also good. Vegetarian restaurant, set dinner and breakfast 2000 kyats each, and 5000 kyat temple donation if staying over night.

Traveling with MONKS from Myanmar (2018) | Mount Zwegabin Hpa-an | Sofian Worldwide #24
Myanmar 2018: Arrived in Hpa-an, we realized that it is a really beautiful place to one and on the other hand it is bigger than expected. A place to spend a few days! So, as always, we asked ourselves the question.
What to do in Hpa-An?
In Hpa-an you can surprisingly do a lot of things. The host of our guesthouse has recommended many things (amongst others caves) that are worth visiting. We then discovered Mount Zwegabin and asked whether it was possible to hike up there. Yes, that was it, so let's go!
Mount Zwegabin in Hpa-an:
The highest limestone mountain in Hpa-an turned out to be one of the main attractions in the southern part of Myanmar. It is about 725 meters high and you have to walk up 2700-2800 steps. It took us between 1.5 and 2 hours to climb the trail at 37 degrees Celsius. To start the journey, we donated 1,000 kyat and were blessed by my monk. A breathtaking view, wonderful people, very tasty food and an unbelievably beautiful sunset await you at the top. It took us about 1.5 hours to get down there. All in all, the whole thing goes very much into the legs (muscle ache the following days pre-programmed). The mountain was about 15 km away from our Guest House, for which we rented a scooter.
Rent scooters in Hpa-an? Can foreigners rent a scooter in Myanmar?
Yeah, you can do that. We have hired our scooter without any problems for 6,000 kyat (approx. 3.6€ or 4.5$) per day in our Guest House. Without presenting a passport, all easy cheesy. The fuel is also cheap in Myanmar and costs between 800-900 kyat per litre (January 2018).
The Mount Zwegabin is a must for a visit to Hpa-an! My best day of my trip so far!! :) Why? Watch the video to find out! Have fun watching :)

Explore Hpa-An, Myanmar
Have you explored Hpa-An, Myanmar?
Hpa-An is about 7 hours east of Yangon by bus.
There are many things to do in Hpa-An but the best thing to do is explore the caves. The best cave is Saddan cave, where you can see many statues of Buddha as well as bats and take a boat ride!
How do you get to these caves? You can rent a scooter for the day for about 8000 Kyat, which is about $8 CDN. It is well worth your money and time! Wake up early and go explore those caves!
Don't forget to go and explore the bat cave and watch millions of bats leave the cave for the night!
The street food at the local night market is incredible as well. You must try all of the delicious food. It all costs around 500 Kyat or about $.50 CDN.
The last, but maybe the first thing to do in Hpa-An is make friends with the locals and watch sunset by the lake!

I’m on my vacation so I explored new destination with my friends.
Mount Taung Wine is situated in Hpa An City , Kayin State , Myanmar.
Hpa An is 6 hours drive from Yangon and one of the unexplored states in Myanmar.
Wild Natures , Breathtaking Views.
Mount Taung Wine is 45 mins drive from city center and it takes 50 mins to get to the sommet. We woke up at 3 AM and Stated trekking at 4 AM. The Sunrise is incredible. Don’t forget to explore this mountain .

We've woken up to a beautiful day in Hpa-An, Myanmar and have rented a motorbike from the guesthouse where we're staying, to go explore this very untouristy area of Myanmar.
As we are driving towards our first point of interest in Hpa-An, Saddan Cave, we're amazed by all the beauty around us and the Cave itself didn't dissapoint. What an amazing place.
We walked through the impressive cave and were asonished but what we saw coming out on the other side. It was like a fairy tale. We visited yet another cave before renting a long tail boat which took us under Saddan Cave and out on the other side, through rice fields and majestic limestone formations.

# Exploring Hpa-An, Myanmar - Things to Do | Myanmar 2017
A short trip to Hpa-An in Kayin State, Myanmar - this city is really too underrated :')
Rented a bike and had a lot of time so we covered quite a number of places:
- Bayin Nyi Bat Caves: supposedly there's hot springs, but we didn't see those - maybe it's the dry season now oh well
- Ya Tae Pyan Caves: climb around the caves you'd find some nice views!
- Kawgun Cave
- Hike up Mount Zwegabin: MUST DO
- Lumbini Gardens: at the base of Zwegabin
- Kaw Ka Thaung Cave, with a swimming pool and a couple of nice restaurants behind it
- Saddan Cave: there's a boat ride at the exit to bring you back to the entrance~
- Waterfall Swimming Pools: didn't see a waterfall ): maybe during the rainy seasons it'd be there?
- Kyauk Kalat Pagoda
- Bat Cave: go around sunset (at 5.30pm) to see hundreds of thousands of bats leave the cave every day
- Veranda Youth Community Cafe: really nice place with good food, and part of their profits goes to helping the youth in the state
- Hpa An Lodge Restaurant: chill place with good French food and wine hehe
